Kristian Hutton from Christchurch...dabbling with some football in Queensland at the moment...he played against us as apart of the Mainland 11 in the warm ups...however I didn't see that so I can't rate him for you!

Ohh.. well the Mainland Select 11 played piss boring football.. Same with the Phoenix, couldn't really rate anyone from that game. I have never heard of K.Hutton before.. What club does he play for?

ive got a song that wont take long, Adelaide are rubbish.. the second verse is same as the first.. ADELAIDE ARE RUBBISH

Pass, he's an old school mate, but he's got potential. Possibly a late bloomer? I think he's been wanting to focus on getting uni out of the way then going hard. Maybe the next Ben Sigmund...

Don't mean to be a cynic but isn't recruiting a striker from Europe/Uk gonna be hugely expensive....The salaries are enormous. How are we goung to attract someone decent..............I mean if you are half decent player why would you come down to the arse end of the world and play in a league that bugger all people have heard of. We probably are gonna have a choice over has-beens and never-will-be's. Hope I'm wrong though. I just hate the idea of recruiting some old English hacks like we did during the Knights era.

Correct me if I'm wrong but Dodd hasn't re-signed yet. Not looking good IMO. He gives us depth in the squad. Imagine what situation we would be this weekend if we did not have quality defenders to bring in to replace Durante and mcCain.

I have heard Dodd is off to GCU but I really hope its not true, he is very solid most of the time.

In regards to overseas strikers, we would probably be looking in English League 1, which shouldn't be too expensive.  Or they may look to an up an comer who wants game time for a season or two to establish himself as a good striker and get a good record for his CV.  Just my random opinion

Otherwise they may pull someone out of a Eastern European country (For example McKaincame from Romania) and they shouldn't be too expensive

What about some of the players from the pacific? There's got to be an experience couple of strikers in their late 20's out there...
Fijian striker Krishna currently playing for Waitakere would be a good signing IMO. Possibly Fa'arodo from Solomon Islands too.

Worth an import slot though ?

Henry has been in the A-League and was not convincing, like all the hype about Totori being up to it (I'm looking at you Billy Harris) and Manny keeping him in his pocket against Waitak.

Fa'arodo was in a-league? It was merely an idea for a cheap replacement for Smeltzy with the future in mind, you're right though, probably not worth a foreign player place. Although both have been in NZ for a while and possibly qualifiy for citizenship soon? Not sure.

Henry is probably closer to Aus citizenship, he generally spends his winter playing in Victoria (for a lot more money than he gets here).

He played 11 games for Glory in the first season, and prior to that was in the NSL with Melbourne Knights.  Commins Menapi played NSL as well.

Was Dadi left out of the squad v CCM because of contractual stuff?

"Mitchell has opted to rest Eugene Dadi to ensure the key striker is refreshed for the clubs home match against Melbourne on January 11."

Don't really buy that.  That had a better chance to beat CCM than they do victory.

Must be because of the contract talks. Either that or Mitchell has lost his mind.

Aussie mate of mine says the rumour is that Dadi's leaving/left  perth...........doesn't know where he is going though. Would be a useful signing for someone. little on the old side but he's scored 8 goals this season for a crap team...which is more than a lot of more fancied strikers have got in the A-league this season. Probably wouldn't be signed by phoenix but Nth Queensland might have a look.

Here is someone worth having a go at, young, has pace, and can score at this level, would be a good steal from the Roar,

Tahj Minniecon

Quote from the Gold Coast Newspaper

"""With his own destiny undecided Minniecon, whose contract is almost up, added: "I'm still talking to the Roar, there's a lot to talk about still, but hopefully by the end of the season it will be sorted.

"It's a matter of doing what's best in the long-term, and although I'd like to stay at the Roar I'm open to offers ..."""

Offer him something Terry

Saw him at the airport when I was flying back after a Queensland game last seson. If ever there was a face you would never get tired of punching, it was that little gobsh*te's.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Meh.  Yet to be convinced, seems to have a touch of the Kruse's to me.

Don't agree but too late now anyway, he has signed for Gold Coast as their U 21 marquee, reported by them today.

Porter, Smeltz, Minniecon.... they will be a handful next season
