Yeah id rather take the risk on Barron than knowing Ferrante will fail. If he doesnt come off,hes just as bad as ferrante,no biggie. But if he comes off and does well, its a win.

Though would still rather look for someone clearly better if at all possible.

Allegedly

Caceres being looked at by a few other A-League teams

surely he would like to settle down and he's done enough for the Phoeni to offer him an extension.

Could live without him. Caceres is mercurial, but not in a good way.

Don't know if I can trust my sauce here but apparently, Costa to the Roar next season, could be well off the mark, but could be true.

Yep I have heard Costa to Roar too.  I was gutted!!

Other rumours not involving us are:

Kosmina to Adelaide next year.

Van Dijk to Adelaide for ACL.

Pantelis to Roar

2 of these scoops are now official, two more to go...

if it is true about paston, and reddy ends up staying with the nix (i thought he was all set to go to sydney, but he seems to be keeping tight lipped until end of season), it could be a good move for mark. as much as gcu are a bunch of tss pots, they are up the top end of the table in their first season. it could mean paston getting more exposure as a keeper, and we won't be left in the dark with reddy.
its all good for NZ goalkeeping if he is the number 1 at gcu.

will be gutted to see him leave the nix though. he's a good guy

Maybe he's just going across to whack Smeltz round the head with his crutches and tell him to keep his gob shut.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Paston has also said he's looking to retire here (in one of the interviews on why he only got a 1 year extension)

Maybe the mate  got confused and he is going to the Gold Coast for a holiday, it happens all the time, did the same myself last year.

He has said he is staying and one guy i believe is Mark Paston

Hopefully someone big and burly like Wood. Do we even breed them here in NZ though or is Wood a freak of nature?

Hopefully some of the standouts from the U17 team make it. It would be good to have someone in the system for a few seasons. Most of the forwards though seemed to be based in the UK

Unfortunately most of those types play rugby.

Anyone know anything re McKain and Caceres and the others guys re-signing. McKain and Caceres I am dead keen to stay. Mulligan, Ferrante and Dadi I think we could do without next season.

Apparently the club and all off-contract players have come to an understanding to put all negotiations on the back burner to concentrate on the finals campaign. So unlikely to be anything for the next 6 weeks or so.

The rumour I'm hearing is that Caceres is unlikely to stay here.

Interest in Caceres from several other A-League clubs.

Sounds like Reddy is dead keen to join Sydney but if he hasn't signed yet then I think we need to give him a piece of paper and get him to write down everything he wants in exchange for us getting his services for another couple of seasons.

Then sign Colosimo and we'll be sorted (not quite, but I love that guy).

I'd give him anything he wanted...ANYTHING

McKain is massive and we need him.
Reddy looks set to move imo. With Bolton leaving he will be no 1, here he isnt guaranteed that. Plus sydney can probably afford to pay more

Not too fussed about Caeceres. He's a good player on his day but exactly like he was described- flakey with moments of brilliance. Daniel covers that slot pretty well.

Would be a shame to see him go, think he's done well for us with very limited chances and probably deserved a lot more game time.

Caceres has proven to be more worthy of a contract than Diego.
Permalink Permalink
about 16 years ago · edited about 5 years ago · History
Diego should do the right thing and bugger off.  Not making us pay out the extra year on his contract of course.
Permalink Permalink

yeah Diego has been a waste of time... I'd put Mulli in that group as well even though I like him and think that maybe he's been be done hard by.  Can the Nix loan out players to the NZFC?  If yes they should have done that with him, would be a good addition to all but maybe one side (ACFC).

It would be cheaper and quicker for Adrian Caceres to collect the full set of A-League kits by going to a Rebel Sport sale rather than playing for every f**king club!!!

Still if Caceras and Costa go that only leaves Daniel and Hearfield with any pace in the team. Bit of a worry.
