I worked in large newsrooms. If the editor wants a story, the reporter has to twist the story to give him what he wants. It's called journalism!

I'm sure we had a pretty much identical story about this time last year with Killen.

"Do I miss it? I enjoyed my time in Scotland, but the conditions don't really suit my game with the boggy pitches and the fierce tackling, so I am looking forward to come back to New Zealand for another season in the A-League."  - M. McGlinchey (discussing his stint at Motherwell)

Freudian slip, geographical cock-up, or misquote? Has Wee Mac been signed for the Nix on the quiet?

Jeremy Christie, Marquee midfield signing? I think so.

I think we can forget about signing Fallon any time soon. If he plays at the world cup like he is currently, he will get picked by a fairly decent club, I'm confident of that.

I would like to see us grab Simon Elliott. The guy has been fantastic for us, despite being around for ages, he continues to give it his all. He would be a real asset for us and it would be great for him to play out his career here. Do it, Ricki!

Oh and Clapham!

I think some of the Serbians will be looking for new clubs after the game the other night. Maybe we could sign one of them :P

Questions re the squad.
1. Is Hearfield still considered a Youth?
2. Is Deigo a foreign player or an Aussie resident?
3. Has a decision been made on the future of Caceres and Dadi?
Currently we have 18 signed players
13 NZ/Aus, 3 Overseas inc Deigo, 2 youth excluding Hearfiled

Hearfield isn't a youth. But he's so good it doesn't matter.
Diego is foriegn.
Caceres and Dadi have gone.

(I think)

so we have 18 players and the max allowed is 20?
that only leaves 2 positions...

I wonder who they'll be looking at? Surely another overseas star for cheap?

Max allowed is 23?

Minimum allowed is 20? sure max is more than that 23 + 3 different kinds of marquee??

Minimum 20, maximum 23 - all the marquees count in the 23, only their salary doesn't get counted in the salary cap.

We should get this guy:

Imagine he'd get picked up in Belguim, Russia or somewhere in Europe. Too good for the a-league.

I would say there are better players currently in the league, he is young and fast so he should be able to get contracts on that alone

Yeah, agree, he's way too good for us or any A-League side. And will remain in Europe. Though I would love to have his pace up front.

so we need 2 more players? (assuming that one of the scholarship players is picked up)

Big assumption to make.

Watched Tristan Prattley(if he is a right sided player)today, great pass and had a few shots just saved by a dodgy Queenstown Keeper. But I dont think he is near the qaulity of Marco or Kosta. Still a great prospect.

We have our 3 youth players, Musa, Marco, Crowther. So unless Ricki decides to sign young players to sit on Ferrante's and Mulligan's spots on the bench, they most likely wont be picked up, unless they are very impressive whilst with the club.

Ah, Right, forgot Crowther was still a youth player
