This has me bemused as to who the Kiwi player might be, at a club and a possible starter. Same for the youth player, but one of the 4 might not necessarily be a youth, as we have room in our squad numbers for 4 senior and 1 youth to come in
"Herbert could not reveal names because the players were still employed by other clubs and the Phoenix were trying to negotiate the breakout clauses in their contracts.
"But rest assured, those four players are really key, those four players would arguably be in the starting XI. So, hopefully, you can see the intentions of the club and where we'd like to take it. The club's been very proactive in that area."
I really don't want Boyens, Vicelich would be so much better but I do wonder about maybe Bright? I wouldn't mind him here, though having said that I would want a striker at the club more proven than any we currently have, and I can't see us signing more than 1 striker so I guess that would rule Bright out.
The kiwi will have to come from this list.. So the likely possibilities are marked by an *..

And..
From this list you could pretty much cut Bannatyne and Barron (because of how he has a comfortable job, been around the nix environment and what not). It would be unlikely to be Jeremy Christie as he was just recently released. Killen (I think) has been released by Boro so that would rule him out. This would leave Fallon, Boyens or McGlinchey to choose from.
If we get Jade North, then I would say we won't sign Boyens.
Better not be, id rather see another kiwi come through, even if he doesnt get that much game time it would be a great stepping stone. Look at Costa

Sure, it's money, but is there a path to progress on?

That current all white statement is not what Ricki is quoted as saying. It could well turn out to be true, or the reporter came to that conclusion when Ricki said a New Zealand player and that all 4 of the targets should push for a starting spot.
Plus I like speculation not being limited to a group of 23 (and probably on 2/3 realistic options).
I'm holding out for David Dodd, personally.
