Hmmm the NZ player automatically made me think Fallon or Killen. However I wouldn't mind Boyens or McGlinchey I guess.

I'm not sure if Fallon would be the best fit for the team though?  Maybe. Boyens could be alright.. can he cover left back though?

From there its all speculation to me who the other signings are, but for them all to be firt team players makes me think that it wont be mr magno viera.

The creative midfield signing is the most important for me.

Maybe we'll attempt loans again.... ?

This is pure speculation but isn't there a certian South American side touring here next week and isn't there a cracking midfielder who is currently not under contract with them?

Surely the oz & nz player must be the youth age bracket- How many do we need of those now to meet the league rules?

I would literally weep for joy and cream my pants simultaneously if we signed him.

I was also thinking Tommy Smith. Or maybe McGlinchey? I cant see it being Peverly or Clapham as it has been stated the reason they havnt released names on the kiwi is because hes still under another clubs contract (which effectively rules out Killen as well). Im pretty sure if it were one of these two they wouldve been released straight away and signed up asap. Theres no way their respective clubs would be delaying these two from signing for the Nix

Also Vicelich has stated time and time again that hes done with professional football. I would be mighty surprised if he were to sign.
he has never stopped being a pro footballer

Ugh... do we need to get all technical over it? the whole 'define a pro' thing again?

Hes not leaving ACFC.

i brought this up a while ago. And how i would love that. One of my greatest heros of all time.

So doubtful. But then what about another Boca player? That couls maybe be a possibility.

I like that the ten days means we could see them at the Bocas game too

Yeah well they are supposably going to be fighting in the first XI so that would be great if we could find a youth player who is in the first team.

You're right, Killen's contract with Boro expired at the end of June and has not been renewed, he's a free agent at the moment.

Hes not leaving ACFC.

I wasnt getting technical, as I would be wrong. Its just that I dont think he has done much apart from play footy (as has earned a truckload doing it) since he left Roda.

I think maybe that given the hard yards he put in for the WC campaign he might want to kick on a bit.

Saying that Boyens could be a good shout too

Was only signed to the Nix for one season, didn't end up getting his contract renewed.

If Killen is a free agent, then there is no football club to okay it...

Perhaps not as exciting as a Fallon, Killen, even McClinchy signing, but makes sense given the state of the squad, very short at Centre Back now that McKain has gone..

Considering WHooo's one man campaign against Si Elliottt helped him be a World Cup standout, his hatred is potentially great news here.

The Australian is Jade North:

In other news, Wellington Phoenix chairman Terry Serepisos has given the green light for the club to approach Socceroo defender Jade North.

North who missed out on World Cup selection due to injury is currently playing for Norwegian club, Tromso FC, after an unsuccessful season with Korean Club Incheon United FC.

Which would then rule out Vicelich and Boyens wouldn't you think?

Hmm. Not necessarily- We need two defensive players in my mind, still leaves room for a Striker and a CM. Things are finally getting interesting on the nix front!

If it's Jade North, then the kiwi will have be a yoof player?

(on the assumption you don't "waste" an international spot on a youth player).

I'm a bit worried with the prospective Asian and south american players - they haven't really worked out for us in the past. Nightmares of G** and Cleberson come flooding back.

Sean Lovemore seems like the obvious signing

Daniel, Fred, and Felipe have hardly been flops. I am very weary of Chinese players now, but given the Footballing culture of violence and corruption in China, we shouldn't have expected a great work ethic out of G** or Chen.

I'd say the youth spot will probably not be Sean Lovemore as I think he's a kiwi and the only kiwi to be signed has a professional club..
