Am I the only one thinking that Toto looks slightly overweight? I know players of that build can be good (Reid - the Irish one) but just putting it out there - as if I can talk.
Agreed. But has he not been without a club for a while so he may have just gained weight. I also thought he looked a bit slow but that's probably due to jet lag from arriving here and not being able to train with a club for pre season.

COYN Is Daniel no an NZ resident? So he doesn't count as a foreigner? Ifill, Greenacre, Toto and Shuker would make 4 then - so Vieria could make 5 - no sign of him last night? Or is he gone and the 5th foreign spot could be held in case North doesn't sign and we need to look overseas for another option.

From what I saw of Pavlovic last night I think we have the 3rd under 21 spot covered. I was impressed with the kid and if we have a better under 21 option we are in good shape but I would be happy with Pavlovic.
Too early to tell if Toto is the goods or not but the "missing link" for the Nix is that creative mid-fielder. I would have preferred we were in a position to sign a player of better pedigree that we didn't have to trial but I guess we have to live within our means.
McKain is a big loss - I do rate Sigmund but McKain was a class above. With Jade North looking all but over as a possibility I really hope we have a plan B to replace McKain.
I don't think we lose much if anything with McAlistair replacing Dadi - I think Dadi was probably a better player but McAlistair will play a full game whereas Dadi was good for only around 50 mins.
My wish list - Jade North and a "sign him and start him" mid-fielder.
I wonder, with the 1 Aug deadline looming, if there are any other possibilities in the wings or what we now see (in terms of trialists) is what we have to pick from ?

Thought Clapham in NZFC v NZ A looked better than Toto. Better vision and passing, popped up and scored...is a bright NZ talent, and wouldn't cost the earth. If he fails at least he's had some professional experience. If Toto fails we get another George...
