Scowcroft is still in goal scoring form, so is Kuqi.  So would Palace let them go?  That's why I'm starting to speculate about the "on loan" players.
Has Kuqi re-signed yet or is he still holding out?

If Dodd decides to go to asia to play, what about trying for Jack Pelter to be our 4th centre back? Would he be young enough for a youth spot?

Maybe he thought it was too much, so he might accept a lower offer from the Nix!!

This article indicates he still has a season to run on his contract:

I doubt at 24 he'll want to cut and run with a season to go on a Championship club's roster.

Have Glory just been on a tour of the UK as well? Here are a couple of updates on their scouting from the BBC's gossip column:

Wolves captain Jody Craddock, 33, is a target for Australian side Perth Glory and would be able to move on a free transfer at the end of the season. (Daily Mirror)

It would seem odd for the club to let the captain go after getting the team through to the Prem.Surely they'd keep him on for a season as a reward even if he rarely plays. Any Wolves supporters thoughts on this rumour?

According to the Daily Mirror, Glory were after Kevin Phillips a week ago.

Sunday's column indicated Lucas Neil was coming home to end his career, Saturday's said Zola was trying to make him take a pay cut in a new deal...

I wonder..but I could be wrong, whether that's only a move by Waitakere in order to secure a deal for Krishna? They know that the boy has got quality, so why not making the best out of what could be a lucrative transfer deal?

I don't actually know the terms of Krishna's contract, so I am not saying I'm right. But if it were true it wouldn't be the first time this happens in football.

Also, maybe it's just an indirect way to tell Ricky: "if you want him, you gotta buy him NOW".

Could be either.. I guess the unknown factor (for us outsiders at least) is the outcome of the trip to the UK as that is going to impact on whether the Nix both want/need and can afford to bring him into the squad... would hate to see us miss out again (ie: we miss Krishna and he moved onto bigger and better things - and here's hoping he does - while the Nix are holding back waiting for negotiations to conclude with the Brits and meanwhile Krishna moves on and we miss out on both fronts). There is of course the possibility that RH simply doesn't think he's the right fit, either for the Nix, or the HAL as a competition.

absolutely agree. I guess the whole thing might depend on whether we actually sign all the players we have scouted. Say, if we miss one, perhaps Krishna will get his chance. I don't really know what to think in this regard, I haven't followed the NZFC too much to feel comfortable with my own opinion.

I have seen Krishna a few times over the last couple of years and he looks all right. I have seen and played vs Corrales and to me he's absolute class. But since I have done my debut in the A-League (yet) I'm not sure about what kind of impact they might have.

I am desperate for some signings!

Any news on goalkeeper signings?  We can't just have Paston.

That Krtishna article really had absolutely no specific information.  Krishna will only ever be a backup, so we'll be looking at our first team and probably consider him if we have a visa spot once that recruitment has been completed

Jeremy Christie:

Should we resign him? I think he's a useful guy to have in the squad as a bench player as he can play in several positions. Last season I thought he had some good contributions from the bench.

He obviously wants first team football but I think he's realistic enough to realise that probably isn't going to happen. And if he doesn't get resigned where does he think he's going to go to keep in the frame for the AWs? I don't think an overseas club would want to use an import slot on him.

I think last year he was better than in season 1. But then again, he played less and the whole team had improved, so hard to say.

At this stage I'm afraid he's at the bottom of the pile. There are more pressing matters at hand, so perhaps after we've signed 3 strikers we can talk about how much (if at all) we need him.

I agree totally, Christie is exactly what you want as a super sub.
