imo Fred is the type of player that would propel us from being a solid team to genuine contenders

I have serious reservations about Jiang Chen.  One of which is that he looks slightly fat.  I'm aware that's very rich coming from me, however, I don't claim to be a pro footy player.

Isn't that just the way Chinese faces are, they have a bit more adipose tissue tucked away.  The two chinese guys I was working with thought I was 10 years older then I am because their faces just take a whole lot longer to wrinkle . . . so it has it's advantages. (this is written by a thin slav)

How long does Fred have left on his contract anyway?
I don't know if he will want to be back here?
His family didn't really like the cold

Eh, he's our 3rd/4th striker. Not too much of a gamble. He looked to be quite technically good to me from the limited time we've seen him.

Im fairly sure that his weight was listed on the tianjin site as 74kg. unless hes 4ft tall, its not exactly fat.

Plus, even if he was - look at Hernandez and Miller. Two of the best in the league and they aren't exactly skinny! Cassio was looking pretty pudgy too

Tony P seems well aware how much class Fred did add to us albeit short term and heres hoping it does not work out for him in the MLS to return to us for a longer period than a guest stint.

haha well I don't want to wish him bad luck with what he is doing now, but I see where you are coming from. I just want to know if he has length left on his contract?
Because I can see it possible to get him on a free, but buying him might make it more complicated.

Fred would be great to have on board

looking at A league leaver, Theo for Norwich let in 7 goals yesterday in his debut, apparently had a pretty poor game.

7, OUCH!!

Gutted. Team would have had to play pretty bad to let in 7 though

Is he still comming? I've heard rumours that he's unlikely to be comming now and that someone has been sounded out as a replacement.

A dog with a bone :)

He's in the final season of his MLS contract, so it could be an option

He, Marco, Greenacre and Costa, the smallest attack in football history but they would scare the sh*t out of people.

You didn't specify that HN, I was gonna suggest Muggsy Bogues as fitness coach. Ah well.

Got this scoop from the cove:

http://translate.google.com/translate?prev=hp&hl=en&js=y&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.sportdog.gr%2Fnew%2Farticle.aspx%3Fid%3D103900&sl=el&tl=en&history_state0=

It should be noted that the acquisition of the Gkagka tawny asked to empty even a foreign place. ???? ???? ??? ?????? , ????? ?????? ??????? ??? ? ?????? ?? ??? ??? ????? ??? ?????? ?? ??? ????? ?? ??? ????????? ??????? ?? ???? ?????. So after Ntiouf is almost certain that Burns will see the exit door of the Union to grant loans to other group.[/quote]

A little bit of a dodgy translation but it seems that Nathan Burns could be available for a season long loan.

Edit: This from Wikipedia:

Up to five non-EU nationals can be registered and given a squad number for the first team in the Greek Super league.

Currently AEK have 6 non-EU nationals,http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AEK_Athens_F.C.#Foreign_players
So could be some truth behind this.

Burns would be a decent get but he hasn't played regular football in a long time so would be very rusty

Didnt stop us getting Diego and Greenacre did it? At least he would have been training the whole time in Europe and according to Pim that is better than playing in the A-League

From what I saw of Burns in the A-League he was only good when his confidence was up and he had put together a run of games

Actually I tend to agree there. Relies alot on confidence for him to be a sucess

Yeah but in different degrees. I think this guy was one who was greatly affected by it. He just was inconsistent which let him down I guess
