sh*t. Forget Fred, secure Lochy on a longterm Marquee contract before one of those guys comes after him. Then we can negotiate for millions rather than lose him on a free.

That's the kind of statement that'll drive Lochy away!  A model pro like that wants to feel that the club appreciates him as one of the lads, not as an asset to be flogged off for cash.

Remember: Lochy is the people's footballer.

Middlesborough must be kicking themselves for not signing him up when they had the chance

Killen not getting game time at Celtic. Someone convince him to do a Smeltz, play at the Phoenix to get his career moving.

Stay at Celtic without a game, or come to A-League and start?

Would also make it easier to get more game time for All Whites friendlies :P

And would also give the Phoenix more money as a World Cup player.

Potentially though, Celtic will hold onto him until the World Cup then hope he plays well there and can make a bit more money from his sale.

Killen said at the start if this season he wasn't interested as of now, so I doubt that will be changing anytime soon.

Another years failure would surely sway him.

After he bangs in a few at the WC there's no way he'll be coming here

He'll be off to Barcelona, along with Lochhead and Mulligan.

If anywhere he'd try to get a contract with somewhere like Hull or Portsmouth.

depending on who gets relegated etc... but along the lines of the bottom teams of the EPL

Well, great lot of good it's doing his career with that bloody-minded attitude tbh.

He could stay as the reserve water boy for Celtic for the rest of his career, whether he bangs in a few at the WC I seriously doubt that will make the club change their opinion of him and giving him a regular starting spot.

But if being paid to train is his career goal, then good on him.

Id rather push for a starting spot at celtic for a while and occasionally go out on loan to a championship club (or even sign for one) rather than come and play for the phoenix

Killen is out of contract in the summer, there will be plenty of takers for a free agent in the championship or league 1 even if he hasn't played an awful lot recently, he'll earn a lot more cash there plus he's settled in the UK.  It's not gonna happen

Normo's coming home

Killen NEEDS to move on.

I doubt it will be to here, but he does need to realise he's just never going to be a regular starter for Celtic.

Is that 3 years he'll have been there at the end of this season? Played about 8 games and scored about 2 goals. Total waste of what should have been his best years in the game.

Killen as Guest, perhaps?  Good for Phoenix, obviously.  Killen might see the logic in spending a serious amount of time playing with Bertos in the lead-up to the World Cup.  Not quite sure what Celtic gets out of it, though if they're thinking to let him go on a free then they probably don't care that much.

I'm a bit worried about next season. After NZ win  the World Cup, all the top teams will be wanting to buy all our All Whites. The hundreds of millions of dollars being offered will be great for the club, but we will have to rebuild a large chunk of our team.

Its possible but nothing seemed to happen after the confederations cup to any of our players

The financial crisis meant that most clubs couldn't afford them.

that's true. Chelsea wanted to buy Lochhead to replace that guy A.Cole. But they only offered $32m so we looked the other way.

The way I heard it, WPFC were prepared to consider that offer but Lochy's agent killed the deal before it got going.  Words to the effect of, "My client would prefer not to set a personal low for transfer fees."

Completely different, though, as we let Brazil win that one and we played quite averagely on purpose.

The club are currently considering offering a contract to a cardboard cutout of Lochy. The words "Chuck Norris of football" were used.

Cardboard Lochy is hardly short on suitors, with Fiorentina, Gold Coast United, LA Galaxy, Newcastle United all rumored to have an interest in his services.

BREAKING NEWS:   Barcelona have announced their interest in a double swoop for 2 players from the New Zealand Club Wellington Phoenix. Tony Lochhead and Cardboard Lochy have been approached in a massive deal worth rumoured 48 million pounds plus the services of wingbacks Eric Abidal and Dani Alves. Wellington Phoenix FC are yet to confirm, but an insider with the club has said the club may reject this offer unless Barcelona decide to take the bid seriously.

I reckon.  Pounds?  Might as well be paying with monopoly money.

Euros or Yen, please!

Cardboard Lochy would be a better signing.  And would count as a domestic player.
