Well, considering the talk about the big-signings (Socceroos) for this season leaving Perth at the end of the season, sounds like another Brisbane coach vs players situation.

Yep, Brisbane and Perth are fu*ked.

Isn't it great to have such a quality coach?

Aren't we glad that we didn't take Robbie Kruse...even if we wanted him

Ha Ha, so Mitchell gets rid of Dadi then gets McBreen in. What an imbecile.

McBreen's a balloon, he couldn't finish a cheeseburger.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

In case anyone is interested:
Contracts expire at end of this season: Jon McKain, David Mulligan, Troy Hearfield, Costa Barbarouses, Mark Paston, Michael Ferrante, Reece Crowther, Adrian Caceres, Eugene Dadi, Liam Reddy. Contracts expire at end of next season: Chris Greenacre, Diego, Marco Rojas, Ben Sigmund, Daniel, Tony Lochhead, Tim Brown, Paul Ifill. Contract expires at end of 11/12: Manny Muscat, Vince Lia. Contract expires at end of 12/13: Leo Bertos, Andrew Durante.

I can see Ferrante and Mulligan being flicked. Hopefully keep Caceras and Dadi.

Its no longer a problem.

Depends who else we can find... I'm mindful that Dadi will be 37 and that both players have turned in one stunning performance, not a consistent run.

I thought we had Ifill for a bit longer than that under his new deal?

Ifill came for us on a one year deal and then he extended that by two years (according to my very unreliable memory).

Of that first bunch it's imperative to re-sign McKain before Brisbane get to him.  Having said that, would he want to go to the Roar considering the current shambles they are?  We also should keep Hearfield, Barbarouses, Paston, Caceres and Dadi (depending on the next few performances).  Let the others go and try to fill their places with a few better players.  Though if we get a youth team maybe it'd be good for Crowther to stay.

Just my thoughts.

Crowther, Pasty and Party all the time are rumoured to be all but signed.

McKain and Brisbane may have dried up a little with them signing this Belgian, and I think they re-signed De vere long term.

Barbarouses hasn't done really anything to get a new contract IMO.

We shouldn't re-sign any of those. Should just bring in Coombes, Hayne, Pritchett, Koprivcic, Soromon, Bale, Bannatyne, and bring back Plodder, Draper and Spoonley and we'll be sweet.

Exactly. I kinda feel as if bluemagic wanted to name the thread "How's this helping ACFC?"

Wasn't it Frank Farina that wanted to sign McKain? It was under Farina that McKain got his Socceroo caps. Maybe Ange P..whatsisname has other ideas. Great if he therefore stays with us.

We should try to sign on Van Dijk, I'm sure he wants to leave Brisbane.

I'm sure Reddy told McKain how great Ange is

Probably covered before, but if re-signed are Crowther and Costa still classed as youth players? I'd imagine that would come into whether or not their contracts are renewed...

Costa im pretty sure isn't.

having looked at wikipedia, Reece will be 22, so no. Costa turns 20 next month, so 21 next season... if Crowther counts this year surely Costa will next year? Anyway, we'll need at least one new youth player.

Get someone out of that U17 squad. Someone who can be a youth player for a couple of seasons. Coey Turipa comes to mind as on obvious selection as he has been training with the first team, but do we need another goalie?

Also .. can we please re-sign McKain, absolute class. Much better than Sigmund IMO.

Don't know if anyone has mentioned this, but we should think about releasing Diego IMO.

We gotta keep McKain - he's come back and slotted back into the first team with such ease. Just helps our roster balance so much more.

Difficult decision this, and probably comes down to how much money he's earning from us. To be fair though, he hasn't put in any A-League performances as horrendous as Mulligan's 3 were, and although I've never seen him shine at training, I think he could prove himself in a game if he was given a decent run in his preferred position.

+1, Jonny has to be priority #1 contracts-wise

McKain may leave, and this would be hard to take but its always going to be tough to keep 3 quality CB's. If he does leave, we should be getting a youngster i think.

Diego hasn't been too classy, but he does make for a good squad player. Much better than Ferrante and Mullign. But he is an import I think so thats when it gets tough. (he is an import right?)

Yes. Him, Ifill, Greenacre and Dadi make 4 out of a possible 5 imports.
