I think it'd work....Brown to close down Leckie, and plenty of attacking options...

I think (hope) we'll go back to 4-4-2.

                        Reddy

Hearfield     Dura    McKain     Lochhead

Caceres     Brown     Muscat      Ifill

                   Dadi       Greeny

Bench;

Crowther
Bertos
Diego / Daniel
Costa

The worry with Adelaide is Lechie and Dodd's pace - they are both too quick for Brown hence my preference for 2 DMs. The last thing we need is Brown picking up his 8th yellow card (2 match suspension) trying to deal with Lechie and Dodd's speed.

He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

This is clearly it for me. Perhaps you could argue for Bertos over Caceras, but IMO Caceras has been better for the last month or so. Would go for Daniel over Diego on the bench.

I think Siggy will play because CHCH is his home town imo.

That should have absolutely nothing to do with it. He will play if he is good enough to be selected. No time for sentimentality at this stage of the season  (Got that Ricki??)

Why wouldn't he play. Although I didn't see all of yesterdays game due to work. It would be great to see him play in his home town but that shouldn't be the reason.

No it isn't. Don't let what you may have heard other people say or seen on TV, put you of coming to Christchurch. I have lived in most of the main centres and some small towns and it is no more racist or violent than anyother place in this great country. But sssssh, I have heard about these people who live North of the Bombay Hills, ooooooooh Scare they is... nasty...they think nothing exists south of them there hills.

He wouldnt play if the defensive backline is Hearfield, Dura, McKain, Lochhead

none of the boys have bin playing upto scratch lately and its nearly do or die time, time to start the young ones

                                                 reddy

hearfield        dura        mckain      lochy ( please be fit)

                                     barborouses      dadi

subs:
crowther
bertos
brown
greenacre

the young guys might prove the extra push we need to win, they might not but it is definetly alot better watching the youngsters have a crack at it, than out experienced players losing every week

Annnyway..

I don't want to see Manny playing in midfield unless we have 3 DM's. He's simply not a big enough presence and can't pass well enough to hold down a spot in a 2 man central midfield.

We cannot play a conservative formation. this is an important game and we need to play on the attack untill we are atleast 2 up.

Me thinks we should also stick Reddy on the bench in place of Crowther.

You know we're in trouble when there are people pleading for Lochhead to return.

To whoever wanted Rojas and Costa to start all I can say is I'm happy you have no say.  Rojas is weak and needs many more years before he could cut it.  Costa a slightly more reasonable suggestion.

                  Reddy/Crowther
Hearfield    Durante   McKain    Lochhead
                      Brown
Bertos                                  Caceres
                     Ifill
           Dadi          Greenacre

Subs
Reddy/Crowther
Sigmund
Daniel
Barbarouses

Reddy's clearly injured so maybe it's wise to give him a week off.  However, if we were to lose due to incompetence from Crowther (and at so crucial a point in the season) then it would be disastrous so I'm happy it's Ricki's choice.

Was going to say Muscat for the bench but, worse case scenario Brown is sent off or we just need another DM then Siggy can come on and slot in beside Dura, while McKain could move forward.

Is Lochhead still injured, I heard he'd be out for two weeks and this game is within the two weeks of the Perth game.

Sack Ricki.

^ that is actually probably our best 11.

I would like to think Hearfield and Lochy are a bit more attacking, but in saying that they normally are even though Herbert plays a flat back 4.

               Durante       McKain
Hearfield                            Lochhead
                         Brown

Mentally I think they have looked at the league table and decided they can get enough points against Adelaide and CCM at home..not sure if I agree with putting all the eggs in those baskets.  The CHCH game is critical.....missing Lochead on th left but if his injury was such that they wanted him fit for later on...read South Africa......then its a gamble to bring him back now.

Must win the must win...a draw will help but simply increase the pressure on the last home game

Greenacre to play and really work hard.  Dadi to maybe play but his holding role needs to improve....he blows hot and cold so far.

A small town in Europe........looking to bounce straight back up....well that aint going to happen

Was a bit of a worry how the Tards flooded our defence. Must be having a breather.
Still, Adelaide 3 points, Gold Coast three points, Central Coast three points. We are that much better than those 'one-trick' teams. Technically better. Home advantage for a home final.

Normal service will be resumed shortly.
How is Dadi's head & stitches?

I would take a point over there in Robina, hope that results go our way and we finish in the top 4. 7 points from 3 games in this league is pretty good, gotta hope that Newcastle and Perth don't get that many.

Obviously a win over on the Coast would be wonderful.

A win over Adelaide and I can breathe easy but until then I'm very, very tentative.

Realistically we can win the last three matches.  This league is so unpredictable.  But with the recent arse-ness that seems to have enveloped the squad I won't be holding my breath.  I still like the line-up I posted but I'm thinking, maybe start Daniel ahead of Dadi and bring Dadi on on about 65-70 minutes.

And is there any word on Lochhead?

Oh, and according to an article I read the Phoenix will have an open training session at 3.30pm tomorrow.  I should be going assuming I haven't been rostered on too early at work.

Edit: I start work at 4.30, just my luck.

Hey guys

I have one ticket for the lower bowl of the Deans Stand for the game on Saturday and was wondering if anyone had another up for grabs as the section has sold out. Me and my brother are meant to be going but he took an age to get a ticket and now they've sold out. Any chance I could buy a lower bowl ticket from anyone?

Cheers
