Given better planning, a fatter bank roll & time off work. Next season I'd be keen as to go to a Christchurch match.

I see nothing wrong with the "National Product" sleeping around.

I'd be happy with one pre season and one regular season game in Chch a year. Next season I'm thinking of getting a season ticket, signing up to air nz airpoints, and flying up every home game. Might put a thread together about mid-offseason to stir up interest...

You don't get airpoints for flights unless you get flexi tickets, which start at $199 or thereabouts.  You'd do better to just book cheap ones well in advance and get the $50 seats - the a-league calendar is released well enough in advance that if you has $400 you'd get return flights to 4 games.  Says the guy looking at $300 return flight because he didn't think about it in time (and having to flag, given funds directed to other football).

We go up three games a year, the last time was to Palmy North. It makes a great weekend away for the family.

Yep - go to the Ticketek site and there is an option to buy tickets in the Fever Zone

Went into Ticketek in Nelson today. Lady brought up the stadium seating etc but I couldn't identify which was the fever zone. SYELLOW was a section but this had no available seats?? Might try online through website but why won't they allow slow post for delivery? DAFT

I can't work out the tickets or how the seating is arranged.

When you go on ticketek website and go for YF tix, it doesn't give you actual seat numbers, just a section DL U2.

When you select normal tix it also gives you no seat numbers, just section DL U2.

Does that just mean you can sit anywhere? Seems a little unorganised but this is Ticketek...

This better not be another 'Home' fail like palmy was... I heard a few of the Nix wernt happy about playing there, even before the game. Hopefully the Chch locals turn out in droves, whats the bet they'l be wearing Red though?

My mate's coming in a Bulldogs top (dick) but isn't it more important to get bums in seats than everyone wearing the right colour. Phoenix gear is not readily available in Christchurch, in fact the only way we can get it down here is order it online via RYOS and pay for postage or fly up to Welly and buy it while we're there.

Scottishbhoy spotted the brand new Phoenix top in CHCH even before it was launched in Wgton at the beginning of the season.

My mates are going in a one piece yellow lycra suit.  Beat that !

Who cares what they're wearing.  I know I'm going to be in yellow but it's not a proper home game and the only two focuses should be a good crowd and a win.  I had no idea there'd be a YF section and I'd have gotten my ticket their but oh well.  I was told to get a ticket asap as they've had to open an extra stand (apparently) due to quick sales.  Hoping for over 12 000.

My tickets are separate from those of my mates, hoping it won't be an issue to just get up and move in beside them.  In a stadium of however many thousand AMI Stadium is it wouldn't usually be an issue, but with only some stands open it could well be.

So on your ticket, does it have a seat number?

Edit:  Just rang ticketek to sort.  There are no seat numbers, there is only one stand opened (Deans stand) and you can just sit anywhere you want.  There is a Yellow Fever zone but it is inside the Deans stand so doesn't really make any difference.

If it's just the Deans Stand open then the gentleman who informed me that more were being opened fails.

How big is the deans stand?  And if it fills up they would open another surely?

Google tells me it is 15,000 seater stand.  As I am hoping we get heaps there, won't it be a pain with unallocated seating and having groups of 3 here, then empty seats, then groups of 6 there, and you trying to fit your group of 5 somewhere?    And when you turn up to you just go into any gate???

I dunno, maybe I'm reading too much into it.

/QUOTE]

Its big its brand new, this will be the first time its been used.

Also the pitch is new it has been relaid etc in the last 3 - 4 months and again this will be the first fixture played on it.

Im sure a Ch ch contributor will confirm this.

correct - this is the first fixture with the new stand (Open day next saturday for public & free).
I think it's good that you can sit anywhere, saves having to buy the tickets in one hit and trying to get money back from your mates.
Thought it would have made more sense to have the YF zone at the Tui Stand end but then again IF it is in the Deans Stand that will encourage newbies to make some noise hopefully - can't wait  for this game

Just paid $315 return, even the return (Sunday)  flights are dearer now ,the only cheap Sunday tickets are for 9.15am Sunday morning ,bugger that my head won't be refragmented at that time in the morning ,coming back at 2pm on Panadol airlines!

Name and numbers?  Buggered if I'm parting with over $100 for one without name/number.

Pretty sure the Phoenix Store is the only place you can go for official names and numbers, Football Central do a decent copy though.

May want to ring first. I went in about a week ago and they didnt have the thing (to do the number and lettering) and they told me to come back in two weeks. So you may want to check into that.

Went to ticketek today to buy my fever tickets and the lady there said all the fever tickets are sold out. Come back home, go to the online store and it is still selling them in the fever zone. So bought my tickets but i am slightly confused.

More to come on this, Vim Feugo has offered the Coastal grounds, only prob is it's a little bit out of town. If not then hopefully Hagley Park which is huge.

Unless someone else has a btter place?

Under 19 cricket world cup is same day but if we get a kick around definite i'll go to that.

Yeah, Coastal would be a bout an hours bus ride. I think.

Bexley isn't it Vim?

It is indeed Bexley, top ground considering it was built on a rubbish dump  I'm pretty sure the #5 bus runs right passed it though (assuming the bus numbers are the same from 10 years ago).

Hagley park is very solid at this time of the year. Avonhead park is good down Hawthorden Road, but totally out of the way.

You've got me down as a starter SB?
