Phoenix vs Adelaide in Christchurch

Honestly don't know how I'm going to make hit, been hit with tonnes of bills lately and well as having been screwed over by Studylink. Been looking forward to this tip all year, but might have to skip it in favour of any away playoff matches

Unless anyone driving down has a spare passenger seat? Heck, I'd go in the boot if I have to

Been to many places all over the world? oh wait you left NZ for one day?

Just get behind it.

I live in NZ. The rest of the world is irrelevant.
Mr Incredible. Very small minded and insular. Just like a good old fashioned 1950's kiwi.
2010 and its a bit embarrising

Jesus Chirst, what a bunch of soft c*cks.
Best the limp ones stay behind with their hot water bottles and security blankets.
They would only enhance a non complimentary impression of football.

Think you mis-interpreted what I meant. I live in NZ and so when choosing and comparing where I want to live in NZ the rest of the world is irrelevant.

, yeah ok, the good old 'out clause'.
Still the world is never irrelevant, even if you live in some nz backwater.
Mate, just like it was with Palmy, its very dumbass to bag a town your promoting the game in.
What purpose does it serve?
If you don't like the place just hush about it and stay at home with your hwb and blankey.
Eveywhere has some racist (and reverse racist) elements.
Big deal. Just feel sorry for the simpletons.

I'd love to go, and would happily pay if I didn't have a bt much to fund.  I've been there twice for Tool, saw Bon Jovi there, spent several weeks down there for work here and then, and visited friends there quite often too.  The Sunday market is well worth heading to if you can make it there.

I'm not a huge fan of the place, but a few munters shouldn't put you off.

I'm annoyed at some level that I can't go to a game I've paid for, but I get my money's worth from my season pass, and if they get a huge crowd there (and win) then I'll have no cause to complain really.

Mr. Incredible is from Chch.
I travelled over for the Sydney game. Im not staying home because I wan't to stay home with my hot water bottle. Im staying because I don't want to have to pay all that money for a city I don't want to go to.

You not coming down Stefan?? By the way to anyone who hasn't booked their hotel try Wotif.co.nz just used it and did their $95 wotif hotel mystery deal and got a hotel which would have cost 150 each night so pretty happy.

Accommodation-wise, just as an fyi, wotif.com currently have a 5-star hotel (being Crown Plaza) for $109 for the night- middle of the city and usually over $300 if you manage to snap one of the nights up... Pretty sweet deal.

Seriously there's no issue here at all though Daniel.  This racist stuff is a poor excuse to hate a city.   It's the Phoenix and you are going to support the Phoenix.  Your reason for being there isn't to ask a very few shaved-headed individuals their political ideologies.

I've been to Sydney (admittedly only parts of it) and I thought it was a bloody dreadful place but if the Phoenix were playing there and I could afford it I'd be there in a flash despite racism there (think Cronulla riots amongst other things).

Edit: And CboZ don't be so sensitive.

As said before, If I could afford to be there I would. Think the idea of isolating much of your fanbase by playing a "home" game 600km away is ridiculous.

if i can find accomadation in ChCh dad said i can definitly go but at the moment i cant find any where to stay and i think a 12 year old by himself at a hotel would be ridiculous, so im trying to think of family friends grhh.   tomrewi2010-01-20 21:01:57

And as I said before, McLean Park is unavailable.  And why should they go back to Palmy?  If they want to increase exposure then a different venue is preferable.  And given ChCh had a proven track record of support the nix when they have been down, they were an obvious location.

This thread has been completely hijacked.

Three things to worry about:

1. Team?
2. Predictions?
3. What is the YF pub?

Lets just accept it as it is and stop f**king whining.

I vote that the designated Fever Pub becomes the permanent Chch supporters of the Phoenix pub.

86%??

Can you be a bit more precise?

Didn't actually want to know, but since you raise it how much cover = the largest cover in NZ?

out of the 13500 seats, 86% are covered. so thats .86*13500 = 11610 seats are covered.

the roof covers the most seats out of any stand in any stadium in NZ.

For myself = yes
For missus = yes
For 6 year old = yes - (he's a pretty hardy fan...)

For 3 year old? No. Lack of covered tickets is an issue.

It'd be nice to know if there is any cover before commiting to ferry tickets, hotels etc before the weather forecast is know- if the weather was iffy, and if you turn up early and sit right at the back, will there be nominal shelter?

The Bard on Avon is a top footie pub.
The Tap Room could be a shot they sponsor Andrew Dewhurst on Radiosport. You guys could pub crawl from the Bard to AMI.

Neither Tap Room nor Bard is anywhere big enough for the yellow fever.  Not long for planning.

What's the story with yellow fever area in the ground when all tix are 'sit where you want'? I have people asking where are we going to meet and sit and it is awfully difficult with no YF zone announced nor any seating plan to work from...

I let my guitar speak for me

The whole thing seems a bit of a shambles actually, some people said ticketek told them there are no Yellow Fever tickets left but you can clearly buy them online.
