If there is a push for another NZ team in the A-League I'd be happy with Canterbury Planes/Aquifers/Tails/whatever.  Would be a great derby.

Me, too. And I'm an Aucklander.

Would you support both teams like you do with Tottenham and Newcastle?

No good reason to support canterbury.

Just got back from the game. Phonomenal crowd, game was a bit scrappy nothing 3 points wont fix. Only one complaint and that was the time of kick off, the sun was directly in 90% of the crowds faces for the first half. A 4 pm or 8pm kick off would have been perfect but hey I know TV decides kick off times.
Anyway big ups to chch 19k is amazing, combination of new stand opening, beautiful weather and first nix game there. I reckon next seasons game will draw 14-16k I hope im wrong and they get 20k plus!

Big thanks to Hard News, Kiwi Jambo, Wilso, Oska, Cboz, Tegal and everyone else [sorry don;t know you all] who travelled down because YOU lot made the atmosphere. if you didn't know me i was in the scottish rugby shirt two rows from HN and one behind Wilso. will be purchasing yellow apparel fairly soon.

19k, brilliant! Fantastic. Loved it. Will come up for a game.

Pretty sure we just converted 19k cantabs to football..

forget to mention... WTF was up with the ticketing.. We had 3 bloody fever zones which were labelled with yellow stickers. Thankfully, word got out the hardcore that we were by door 13 but blimey what a mess.

ive got a song that wont take long, Adelaide are rubbish.. the second verse is same as the first.. ADELAIDE ARE RUBBISH

....I love the Phoenix and I am pleased they look like they are going to make the final but here we are at the end of the season and they look like they are in preseason mode. There is very little flow or combination. I don't think we strung together more than 3 or 4 passes. Lots of aerial stuff that was aimless and pointless. Its really only the back four that keep us in games.

We can't counter attack at speed...the midfield struggles to create. The flow from defense to attack is often aimless. i know we should not compliain but we are suppose to be on the charge into the finals and Adelaide are crap bottom and have not won for 8 games plus they were missing at least 6 of their top players. They easily could have won that.

The  people of Christchurch deserved better!!!!!!
I agree, the Phoenix were hugely disappointing, but after their recent 2 appalling performamces I guess it was at least an improvement and the result was good.

But the quality of ball forward was shocking at times, we didnt have enough possession and relied on our battling defence.

I wouldnt hold up too much hope in the playoffs based on that

Get Interislander to give 75% off or something ridiculous on match day if you've got a ticket.

TBH i didn't realise it was such a bad game and i don't think many others did to down here. most were taken in by the atmosphere and what was going on in the crowd etc to really care. Seem like massive high was running around the stadium

Free. Plus all Interislander passengers go into draw to win a case of beer

Three for me, and two for them.

I was watching Premier League Preview today and Ryan Nelsen spoke and said at this stage of this season it doesnt matter what sort of quality of football you play its the results so teams throw the quality of play out the window and just do whatever they can to get a result. It doesnt go down as a "scrappy win where they played defensively" it just says win. So really i dont care how we play as long as we get the result! and im so stoked we have.

That was pretty evident in the GCU-Tards match last night.

I did unfortunately. People behind me complaining that the game was boring, which it was in the middle of the 2nd half when it threatened to turn to custard for both teams.
General consensus of people I was with was that the game was average but they loved the atmosphere, noise etc. Gives them an idea of what being a supporter is all about (riding the ref, opposition players etc. and yelling your nuts off in support of your team regardless of how the game is going).
Best bit for me was watching, a couple of rows in front of me, 2 six year old kids with their shirts off flinging them around their heads with ten to go.
Priceless.
Big ups to the Adelaide supporters for turning up in good numbers as well, shame the DJ's who gave the Fever a big rap at half time failed to acknowledge them.
I've being looking forward to a game like this for so long, since the days of the ChCh Utd v New Brighton national league derbies back in the '70's. Well happy.
Yes ChCh does need to get it's own team, food for thought ..............

What's sight without sound? Love without peace? Copulation without conception?

Ryan is right. Attractive playing losers are losers, ugly winners rule.

So to those complainers, we are just about in the finals, and anything can happen from there, so dont take too much from the quality of this win, take the win for what it is, (FFS)

The guys in Red in the bay next to the Fever ?

If it was, they were Canterbury Action Indoor Sports shirts, not Adelaide.

Jambo was about 6 rows behind me in a triblyesque hat.  Wearing a Phoenix City ska t-shirt.
