Great news.  So how much have they said it costs to run the Phoenix per season?  I know they've mentioned it.  And how much do the sponsors cover?

Would be good if members got a quota like with the finals - have a workmate keen to go and could also hit up some others.

Good work Ahmad.

Will you be wearing your plastic gowns that make you squeal sweat like a pig? (poor taste Deliverance gag)

Might need them in July anyway.

Also will you be going to the ChCh game in December?

December was pretty much a given (road transport easier with family).

Was hoping to bring up a bunch of others but people are bloody hard to motivate.......

Please keep me informed about team appearances (Phoenix or Boca) or trainings on Thursday 22 July or 23 July because I will do anything to get my son in and around the players.

Thanks Shane Jones for creating Grabaseat's Labour of love!

No stripeys around at the moment.  May be lucky and new gear comes in before the boca Jnr match.

However in true YF form you should wear your plastic gown as that is now your lucky kit.

Still nothing on the ticketek site for this match.

As this is a friendly (with nothing riding on it) I will probably be wearing stripey.

There's a waitlist for the match (need to be a ticketek memeber). On front page click on the sports tab and then it is on the bottom left. No other info at the moment but could sign up if you want to know early, though probably on here just as quick. Good to see some movement though, bring it on!

HOLY sh*t Anyone else shocked by the prices???

Standard prices (Wellington Phoenix season 2010/11 members receive a 10% discount of they purchase June 21-23)
Gold: Adult $69, children $32, family (two adults, two children) $180
Silver: Adult $48, children $22, family (two adults, two children) $125

How much was the Galaxy game?? More expensive than both the Bahrain Qualifier (international game) and the A-League Semi-Finals....

Its bloody Expensive, I'm really shocked I actually can't afford $48 but its the nix so I will find it some how but I won't be buying for a while. I don't think many people will pay this price to watch to be honest.

Its not that expensive, whats a silver ticket worth to a regular season game 35ish?

Hmm.  $112.50 for silver family.  I think the Bahrain game was $99.

Oh well bite the bullet, what the heck.

1). Price - about 25% too high.

2). Members can't select seats - you can only specify area (e.g. silver, yellow fever etc).

3). You can only buy through website - you can't buy from store or over phone.

4). No concession price for students or pensioners.

Whoever organised ticketing - you're fired, come back Tony P.

He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

THanks WB .. answers a question I had about being able to select seats if booking on Monday. I guess we can't  So it will be a case of getting in early for a saving, or going later for the specific seats. I will probably opt for the former.

from my reading I think we do .. 10 percent if buying early next week?

Let's face it - they are doing it for the money and the promoters are (like FIFA in the World Cup) going to charge the highest price they can get away with and still sell seats.

The hardcore (Mr. Cboz himself) would go hungry for a week to go to this game and they know it.

But my first thoughts on the pricing are they are just milking the football high this country has at the moment, and I just don't think people are going to fall for it. Maybe I will be proved wrong.

I'm loathe to complain too much about the pricing publicly as I don't want to put people off coming (and a big crowd is important not necessarily for the atmosphere but more so for the success and viability of the event leading to future such events).

So I guess I'll try to restrict my public bitching to this forum - at least it's partly sheltered.

How much was Galaxy? Robb said around $70 so in that case is this an expected price?

I am not so much concerned with the price, though it's definitely higher than expected.

The main issue people not being able to select their seats during the members sale.

The last time we had that situation, the LA Galaxy game, we got stuck with a bunch of muppets behind us who complained to security we were standing up in the Yellow Fever zone.

I'll see how sales go, but I think I'll wait till Wednesday to pick seating.

With these prices wouldn't there be a reasonable chance you'll be able to shift seats without a lot of difficulty?
