Is it ok for us to wear our Whites from November 14? Hoping to get them signed by players that were there on that magical night but too pissed to be at the parade the morning after.

Assuming ticket sales are at about 5 000 (I know the Pax doesn't coincide precisely with number sold) then I certainly hope sales pick up ahead of the game.  Would love to see a full house and there deserves to be a bigger crowd than at the LA game.

There won't be.  Boca as a brand < Beckham as a brand.

 

I really hope a large crowd show up. I think the clubs publicity machine really need to pick up on this as the advertsing has been minimal really IMHO. And i think they should be flouting that there will be recent World Cup attendees on the field for the Nix.

I have to agree on the marketing side, there has been Sweet FA that I've seen.

Only a few weeks to go, but I suspect now the Open Day has been, they'll concentrate on marketing their next few games, starting with Hamilton this Saturday.

Did no-one see the full page ad in the Dominion Post last Wednesday?  (It is now a poster on my wall at work.)  I thought that was pretty high profile advertising...

Radio ads everywhere talking up six AW's for the Nix...

All the bus shelters in town seem to advertising it now.

To be honest there is no point in spending a hell of a lot of marketing dollars for it because they aren't losing much if only 10k or so turn up (except for hype before the new season)

See this is exactly the WRONG attitude to have about this game.

If we don't sell a bucket-load of tickets, have a great atmosphere, and at least give Boca Juniors some return on their visit, who else in their right mind would ever bother to come to a football backwater like NZ?

Terry S and the WCC stumped up a lot of cash to get L.A. Galaxy here, and they covered some of their expenses selling 31,000 odd tickets.

Boca Juniors are paying the Phoenix for the game, and a share of ticket sales. So we're helping the club by trying to sell another 31,000 tickets

It's not just for one game. It's for credibility for Wellington and the Phoenix as a club, for future games.

Valeo's honesty reflects his attitude. Who cares unless he is personally affecetd. Next time, when valeo wants to move a load off his back, make sure that no-one comes to his aid. Let him taste his just dessert. Ard Righ is right, it is about credibility here. Try hard and try harder for Wellington Phoenix to gain international credibility by filling up the Caketin. Make it enjoyable for us and also give the Boca Junior a memorable trip to treasure. Hope Boca Junior gives us a great game! Hope Wellington Phoenix has a good team to put up a superb shiow.

Well I have bought 6 tickets for the game....Aisle 21 woohoo...bring it on.....we all must do all we can together with the Phoenix to get the ROF crammed to capacity...This is a once in a lifetime chance to see a top world club.....

if we lose, does that mean our guaranteed ROF win/draw in the A-League season every game will be doomed ?
