Why not last night?

I really like the idea. It's a night when a lot of people plan to have a big one, so it's a good opportunity to incorporate football into it. Think it would be really cool if this was to become an annual fixture.

Well it would be good if  we were in Oz, a 6pm kick off then off to celebrate a Nix win, and see in the New Year in style

Oi Oi Edgecumbe... lets have a clean sheet

Why not last night?

Mariners tradition, they normally get a good crowd and not much else to do on the Central Coast.

Riki said he will play three up front. Take the risk, we need the points.

It's quite late for us though. I will watch but I imagine most people will be well on into their drinks and probably forget all about it. Nobody on here of course

yeah its probably better served as a game between 2 aussie teams. 4 kings will enjoy the probable extra patronage for the game though.

Yeah, it's probably a bit late for us considering when the game will finish our time, but still think the concept's good.

Agree with the above comment that it'd probably be better if two Oz teams played.el grapadura2009-12-31 13:14:45

Its replayed 9 am New years day.....so go party the night away. Get up in the next  morning and watch  it pretending its a live game..............and then you would get some idiot come up to you at the party and say "good win by the Phoenix"

Indeed

One thing I just cannot do is watch full replays of games. Think I have probably done it once in my life and it was torture knowing I could just check the score some way or another!

I did it for the game against Brisbane, the game was on while I was at Pearl Jam and I got up early to watch it, I was so gutted!!!!!

I'm gonna be in the same boat again tonight, the whole night I will have the game in the back of my mind. C'mon Nix don't make me grumpy on New Years Day!!!!

Because of the time difference between Perth and Wellington ( 5 hours) i have to record all Friday and Saturday games played in Nz and watch them when i get home from work, not quite the same aye, I love sunday games, cant beat football and beer for breakfast, at least I'll be watching todays game live, less than 3 hours to go can't wait.

Lol, in Gosford? If getting your head kicked in by the local troglodytes is your thing.
I suppose you could try & get back to Sydney but forget about driving over the bridge, it's closed.
Did actually toy with the idea of heading up for this one but it was the nightmare of getting back into Sydney was what put me off.

Good on you Herbert for rolling the dice.

It will be 3pm here in Kunming, so will watch the game, go out for a kickabout myself then home, shower and head out again for a big night. It's quite chilly here so will wear my Nix scarf.

We'll probably lose just because New Years always sucks for me. Sorry guys. I've ruined it for everyone again!

A bit worried about the positions we are going to play the players in and whether it'll work. Be great if we can win this one though. C'MON!

Bertos at striker will go up from 62 to 65 where as Muscat at mid will drop down from 58 to 49.
Ifill at striker will drop form 66 to 65 so it shouldn't make too much difference.

A player going from 58 to 49 is a reasonably big drop for a crucial game. Well, they're all crucial from here on in lads. I'm buckled in and ready for the ride.

Bertos struggling a  bit in middle of front line..not much width albeit Hearfield is doing great.  Good to see a low cross..
