It's blurry though guys.

There are a number of different numbers, with comps, with stadium members, straight Pax, actual paid for tickets.

Tony P gave me a figure just under 10 for the number 'sold' as of this morning.

As for slack-arse in the store... I'll make sure he comes here to justify himself when he next signs on

Let's hope for 19-20 and celebrate anything beyond that.

I agree - first priority is to get back the crowd record for Wellington - anything more than that will be a bonus - the more the merrier!

My PAX was 13328 and all the camera facing side was gone. Ended up getting 6 in a row in isle 19. Girl there said that morning they only had 8K left to sell though I think group block bookings will release a few later on. Can seriously see 20K though.

Its no longer a problem.

If they have sold most seats from row 18-32, you are looking at nearly half the stadium being sold approx 15-16,000 people. But there could be a hell of a lot of tickets that have also been purchased in the other blocks.

I think the Phoenix are being careful not to damp the momentum and there being rumours that the final is sold out (It does happen), so people still keep going down to the ticketek office. Unlike the All Whites Qualifier, there is a lot shorter time period to get the tickets sold.

Forecast looks ok, which will help wak up.

Might be 8k until they need to release the seats thus far excluded from sales on western side of the stadium (and there's prob 12k of those at a guesstimate). that would mean about 14k sold + 8k = 22, leaving 12 or so left (and some corps).

That would be consistent with the Ticketek on-line system currently allocating silver tickets; singles in Aisles 20 & 30, pairs in Aisle 18 and triples in Aisle 17. It does assume the gold area is also filling. It also assume some logic in the Ticketek allocation system.

The club is obviously playing down expectations but I would have thought 20k+ would be an easy reach with 2 full days to go and fine weather forecast (i.e. a decent walk up crowd of late deciders).
He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

Would be great to hear a figure from an official as to how many have sold.  I'm picking the attendance to be over 22 000.

Last time I made a serious prediction I got it right down to the very person so either it makes me a genius or I got lucky once and it'll be way, way under 22 000.

No Argument there, anyone who supports the Phoenix is automatically a ghenius, sorry about the spelling but I'm only a trainee ghenius....although I did manage to predict a 3-0 scoerline last week,( along with a 3-1 and a 3-2 which lost) but still left me well in the money.I'm selling my forecast for this sunday's game.................

Bit beyond our control mate. It's not a case of designating where the Zone is, it's all about where the fans are (which is mostly between 21 and 22...or 22L and 21R if you're a ticketek nerd like News).

For what it's worth Me, Newsy, 2ndbest, Santy, Feverish, wingbak4eva, el_grap, Pink Pantherand most of the regulars will be around Aisle 22, Row H, seat 100...we have a three row deep bunch about there.

So at least you know that if you're in a really sh*t spot and want to jam in then we'll probably let you.

if its ok Ill try and get around that area for a majority of the game

Ian Jones just gave the Phoenix a shout out on Campbell Live while he was doing his virtual rugby picks.

Said it was going to be a huge weekend for sport in Wellington and issued a challenge to rugby fans to get along to the Hurricanes game because "the Phoenix are going to get 20,000 on Sunday"!

Nice.

Sainsbury gave it  big call on one as well.  They were meant to have a WAGS story but it got pushed to tomorrow so he talked it up and said it was more fitting tomorrow heading in to the big match.

ha rugby will never be as good as footy. but good on that guy for giving phoenix a shout out on michael campbell's tv show

It's John Campbell's TV show.

If Michael Campbell had a TV show it would only last 15 minutes before he got cut.

I am surprised by the lack of angst about the front page banner.

I thought about that but we're getting more out of the 'partnership' than them with them advertising us at their game and us getting a lot of their fans over for the bbq.
