I thought Caceres was really good when he came on, so I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't start over Bertos. Unless of course his wife pops out the kid in the next 10 days which is also incredibly likely.

Hope she pops the kid out now so that he can go over, fulfill his fatherly requirements/get on his wife's good side, then be back here for the game.

Just did a quick surf of the A-League fans forums and aside from the Scum ... The Nix are everyone's team.

Don't know and almost unbelievable a NZ team is the team everyone is going for this side of the ditch... How the FOOK you pulled this off ... well it is YF you guys the bra ladies and articles like the one in the NZ Herald about the Nix and noise ... well I never tho I would see the day ... Aussies cheering on the NZerders against our own..

But I want to win toooooo ... go Nixs you carry the wait of two nations now...

Right I have no idea and cannot help ... it would seem that El-Presdienti wants you out ... I think the power and influence of the FFA in this are over estimated ... remember Qatar put in a rival WC bid after saying they would not...

My advise has always been to get extra Kiwis allowed in this teams as the solution and to pay for this offer Oceania rights at all stages to Asia in the qualifying period and become a defacto Asia member..

Interesting that Ricki took Lochie off and then put Manny in at left back last game, and he was bludy brilliant. Still he was brilliant in the midfield too. A sign of preference?

Oi Oi Edgecumbe... lets have a clean sheet

fair enough. i dont really care about how big the crowd is. all i know is we have been there through the bad times, have been to every game the last two seasons. sat in a crowd of just over 5000 in the pissing rain to watch them go through draw after sh*tty draw. sh*t. it has been worth it. this is going to be absolutely amazing. yellow fever. this is the moment.

i'll change my underwear now....

The Nix & YF are the talk of the country lately on TV & radio sports talk-back (Murray Deeker & Willie Lose), saying "the fever is spread" more or less. Also they're asking why is there such a great atmosphere at the games & could it be re-created at rugby games (yeah right)? Good to hear we're getting publicity nationally.Wongo2010-02-24 23:09:44

The Dompost had a back page article on Cory Jane and Jason Eaton calling for a smilar atmosphere at the rugby.   Suggesting a yellow fever type zone for the Hurricanes.

Tony Robson's roundup column on the Super 14 had Hurricanes news: The Phoenix! as the first sentence.

The bad: Neemia Tialata admitting to stealing Leo Bertos' lunch.

Found:  The Cory Jane/Jason Eaton article:

Agree with this. Times like this make all the last minute equalisers, defensive brain-farts, and games watched in the "wonderful" Wellington weather during the first few seasons worthwhile. That's not to mention the annual fight with T*%&tek to even get the member pass at the start of the season. Ha.

i was dumb enough and skint enough not to afford a season ticket . .. . have grappled with ticketek and their row L online ticket sale obsession since the start of season 2. glad i was lucky enough to get the best ever christmas present this year. row c, aisle 21 from now on.....

I've read a little bit on here about the Ticketek system not being great, trying to buy my ticket online now and although I'm being told numerous sections are available it can't find me a single ticket.

Surely the game isn't a sellout yet, should I just give Ticketek NZ a ring tomorrow?evolution2010-02-25 00:12:05

Put up with the Rugby types for decades saying how boring sokkah is and wouldn't go to a game. Mr Deaker has never watched a game in his life. Now they want to replicate the experience.

Hilarious.

A rugby fan at work yesterday was going on at how boring soccer is but then admitted he had only seen one full game before which was the All Whites Bahrain match - and he thought that game was pretty good. F*ck theres some idiots around.

Durante shirt (finally!) arrived this morning.  Pleased as punch with it.  Can't wait to be at my first game actually wearing a proper Phoenix top.

They still might think the game is boring, they just want the crowd atmosphere.

I can see this one selling out before game day, its great to see how much the sport of football in NZ has grown. You don't even get this much hype for an All Blacks game (except in the rugby crazed media).

Just cos he's in Oz doesn't necessarily make him a retard!
