Man of the Match for me was Durante. Solid as in defense. Clearly a leader of men and he was outstanding. What a day!

Hey you bastards I'm still here.

ifill was amazing today, tore them to pieces for 120 minutes, shoulda been around 5-2 in reality

Ifill was just class from start to finish.
But they all played really well.
Reddy was magnificent.
Brown was just brilliant.
Sigmund and Durante gave me great confidence.

Absolutely fantastic for Wellington and NZ.

What a great event though, fantastic atmosphere, great excitement, good attacking football from both teams, and some dodgy reffing! Games like that will bring the crowds in.

WHat a game, go he Phoenix. Ifill played well but didnt think it was going to be his day until he got the 2nd. Daniel was simply brilliant off the bench - he would switch play and pass right for Ifill  - Durante solid as at the back.
Top effort - excellent result - wish I had been there!!!
We survive for another week - where are all the people now that said we would have the wooden spoon?

Tears in my eyes at the end.

Thinking back to cold nights with 2000 hardy Kingz fanz singing our lungs out in the rain at North Harbour Stadium. Good times with Ric le Roc and Russ the Muss, the Corporal (and Connor), X-ie, Andy Spirite and Streee...tched, Mike of the Castle, Milts, Hamilton Hammer, Muzza, Stack and the Stantials and all the rest in the Bloc... and we DREAMED of time where 32,728 fans sung and cheered their team to a preliminary final...

Thge highlight for me was when the north end were chanting Phoenix clap-clap-clap-clap, and at the same time the Fever we singing Wellington is Won-der-ful...

C'arn the Phoenix.

Brandon with the chequered flag.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Phoenix fans. We have to win them over one fan at a time.

How good was that? Now that I've come down with a bad case of Yellow Fever (having driven down from Thames the past two games), I'm going to have to move down to Wellington. I want to go to every game next season, because, to use a cliche, it is just electric in the Ring of Fire when the boys are playing this well. On ya lads, let's go all the way!

Great defending by Durante. Mammoth game by him. If only the horses had gone as well this afternoon and i would of been away and laughing.

Phoenix  = Serotonin overload...

Watched it from Aisle 6 which was a new experience...which seemed to be a 'YF sub zone' being directly opposite and we were often chanting in time but pposite to 'aisles 20-21...

my throat is the hoarsest it's ever been...

so Syd/Mel? whose chartering the plane and how can i get a ticket?

Daniel was the game breaker..had the vision and used it for a change in switching play and holding up play when needed.  Big raps to the 3 AWS who went the distance..crash well for the next 2 nites guys.

Dadi for having the strength when needed and being in the right place which is 6 yard box only.

Great train ride home...

Fabulous, 3 years of dedication from myself and my partner. This made all that worth it. Awesome feeling to get where we are at the moment. Everyone thought I was mad at work for being so hardcore, now they try and start conversations with me. Ahhhhh the revolution has well and truly begun

Turn it up!

Bertos was superb down the right, especially in the first 20 minutes where most of the 'Nix chances came off his running and crosses. Daniel played really well, not disputing that, but Leo had a great game. He was creative and constantly threatening.

That was simply fantastic and not just the players but the crowd and support. U see teams drop when they go behind. We at home always come back and thats the crowd factor. Syd and Mel are giving it there all as they dont want to face this Wellington Nix team. Stand Up for the Phoenix!!!!!

have to agree - Bertos played his little legs off and fed in a lot of good passes from the wing; but the game breaker seemed to be Daniel coming on, switching wings with Ifill and making surging runs at the opposition - some real vision and long range passes ....

....must watch the replay on Prime tonight.

Same here, and I thought we did okay at our end!  I brought a couple of rugby girls and they LOVED it!  Told em they belong in the fever zone with lungs like that.

I've only read the last couple pages of this thread so not sure if anybody has mentioned Lia.  I thought he was f**king terrible, but am I letting his 4 (that I remember) AWFUL passes with time on the ball overshadow things?

Anyway lads, great game and crowd.  i predicted the score and our first sub, do I win beers?

and a great moment...the Fever started a "who are ya" to send the Jets off at the end, but when the Jets applauded the crowd they got a shout and applause back

Respect to Jets and crowd

I love football!

Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

Yeah Lia definetly had one of his poorest games. Bertos was great, but clearly became tired in the 2nd half, but then Daniel came on and really was a gamebreaker.

What a result!

Allegedly

YESSS! that was excellent. I almost called the result with my 2-1 brown ifill... so close. Daniel and Bertos were both superb... interesting with Caeceres back in the mix.

So stoked right now.

If Melbin lose tonight, with the Tardis falling apart, couldl we play at home next week?

It's not like asking your Mum for a lolly, it's a structured system.

Melb and Sydney finished Top 2, so any remaining game is in either city now

This was the important part.

I'm well aware of the system, but with the roof falling in at Melbourne, it's possible that the game may have to move. I'm sure there are other stadia in Melbourne, but there's the question of availability. (although I have no idea whether the ROF is available either)
