Go Nix!!!!! What an awesome game, bloody hot though LOL! Have a little bit of sunburn now but it was worth it! Was waiting for Ifill to score, he threatened so many times. The Nix threatened so many times! Nail biting stuff waiting for them to finally finish it off! Overall, super stoked, and so so glad that we were there!

Big applause to Brian in New York who watched the entire match online.

Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

I second that. Some bloke in front of us offered us sunblock.

We will never fully decide who has won the football.

I'd have to say that turning up with as much skin showing as some people did today, under a New Zealand sun,  is *^&^*^ STUPID!!! There were a couple of major lobsters near us.

Fantastic game.  We were roasting in our seats with the sun beating down.  Where was the count down to Shirts Off in the 2nd half of extra time?  Nice touch when we clapped off the Jets.  Funny when YF chanted SEAGUOLL..SEAGUOLL when a 767 flew over the RoF.  Great afternoon.

Just hitting the sack now, brilliant day. Thank god that game didn't go to penalties. Don't think many could have handled that again. All over the Jets in the last 45 mins (including extra time) so something had to finally give! Fantastic!!! Buzzin!! Bring on Sydney FC.

Keep an eye out for my panorama in the next few days. Fingers crossed it turned out alright!

I thought the last 20 minutes of regular time needed more Caceres, but Daniel's long crosses to find Ifill were immense. That is what Melbourne do so well (although not today) and if he can keep doing that then it adds another string to our bow.

Awesome effort by all the team and it brought a tear to my eye too.

Amazing game and the Sydney/Melbourne game was a cracker aswell.

Actually very happy Sydney lost and the next game is here in Sydney, can go along and keep the dream alive.

Indeed...my face looks a bit like this now -

I really didn't think it was going to be that warm when I left the house!

Another good game though, although Dadi's goal ALMOST resulted in the destruction of my (expensive) camera...I was filming at that time, Dadi scored, guy in front threw arms in the air, knocked camera out of my hand almost 10 feet in the air, it fell to the ground, but luckily survived. Unfortunately the footage did not survive though!!!

Sydney did not lose, is was a draw. They lost on home and away goals.
For us it would have been better to play Melbourne as I thought Sydney were the better team by a mile and also Melbourne have an Asian cup game on Tuesday.

If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid

Anyone else notice how close Dadi was to the miss of the season ?

Haven't seen a slowmo replay but I think the ball bobbled just before he tapped it in and he nearly put it over the top from 2 yards.

He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

Me too.  All of that.

Very drained emotionally.

Washing ALL the family nix gear now.

Seeing Terry and Tony absolutley ecstatic in front of our aisle, seeing the little Ifills and Dadis running around afterwards, watching the lads file out and applause us.

Walking down the concourse afterwards the gent who sat behind us during the season came up and shook my hand.  Wonderful fans we have.

Watching the whole of wgtn turn out in yellow - all the punters walking around the street afterwards.

A wonderful, wonderful season (not over yet, but a great way for Wgtn to end its part).

Without having seen Hill's comments on air, he has actually been a proponent of the Phoenix staying in the A-League and generally been very positive about YF, the team etc.

Once when Kosmina kept calling us Kiwis, Hill set him straight, saying we are the NIX!!

Man, the last two games have been intense

Perth was rugged as h*ll, went the distance and penaties
Tonight more flowing, for me I thought we were doing enough, but a goal down and couldn't put it away with the Jets stacking numbers back and always looking dangerous on the break.  Never felt relaxed.

So that Mexican wave went right over my head, jeez, leave it till we're 3-0 up eh :)

Is it really such a big deal?

Sell-out crowd, great atmosphere, Nix hammering away at the jets' goal for most of the game and bringin it home in extra time.

PS we went out for dinner aftwerards (belated birthday  dinner) and on the way back drove by 4 Kings to hear the place belting out "We're gonna win the league, we're gonna win the league"

Great game. What can I say except I wish I could've been there. Good work from the YF as usual - singing the loudest directly after conceeding.

Ifill - legend. Dura - legend.
