1-1. Better result for them than us. Still, we did deny them 2 more points I guess.

f**k, if I haven't given myself an ulcer after that last 15 minutes I'll be surprised.

Harnwell and Velaphi, take a bow.

Frustrating that it so easily could have been 3 points, but that's football...

Glad I was able to watch the 2nd half! thanks C-Diddy for the Iraqgoals tip.

First half was one of the worst games of the season.
A draw was a fair result. Neither side deserved to win.

Just back. Woeful game, terrible performance. Last 5 minutes didn't hide the obvious. We must have had 70% of the game and couldn't do a thing.
Frustrating as hell

If Higgins had come on we'd have had Giggle and Velaphie playing in the goals

Its no longer a problem.

Totally agree...80 minutes of garbage and 10 minutes of frantic, do or die attacking. Seemed like a flashback to round 1. Aimless passing in midfield, no continuity, some real dodgy defending.

They needed someone like Fred to take control of the direction of attack. Too many wack it into the box and hope type balls. What a messy game....Smeltz's miss in front of goal with the goal keeper gone just about summed it up. To me it was the most frustrating match for ages.

I have been banging on about needing Daniel to replace Fred all week. No disrespect to Hearfield but he is the wrong sort of player. he touched the ball about 3 times in the first 35 minutes. Thats not what you want from your " go to " man on attack. FFS what has Daniel done to only get the arse end of games? He showed more creativity in the last 10 than Troy did all match.
WE NEED A PLAYMAKER in behind Smeltz and Super Leo!!!!

Question, did anyone else see a Perth defender do a handball in the box to stop it hitting him in the bollocks?

Well Well Well.

Ricki Herbert: Please get fired. I have been one to back him in the pass but something has to change and I think it has to be him.
The whole team doesn't shoot enough, when we got going in the last 10 minutes we shot more time than we have all season. It was good exciting football that gave us a chance at winning. I think that it has to be Ricki teaching/telling the team not to shoot till you will score because quite frankly i can't quite justify what the team is doing otherwise.
Ummmm, Moss, should never have been left on the bench. Sure injured let Paston have a go but, Paston was, is, and won't ever be better than Moss.
Daniel, WHAT THE f**k HAS HE BEEN DOING SITTING ON THE BENCH ALL SEASON. He has been by far the most consistantly good player in the team. When ever he comes on he sparks the team, the crowd, everything. He makes the whole game click into place. Let him start for f**k sakes.
Far too defensive, Ricki is much to happy to settle for a draw, when everyone can see that the team want and can get more.

All of the above is why Ricki should f**k off.

Manny Muscat, boy oh boy where to start? I'm not sure myself, I guess i got lost watching him get lost. Time after Time he completely missed the man on the far post leaving him unmarked and the goal wide open. Instead of marking his man he instead chose to make whoever was in the middle, you know, the one that was already marked.

f**k!
Sorry I'm just a little angry atm.

Ricki needs to f**k off.
The whole squad needs to go out there looking for a win, having fun and shooting!

Tonights game should not have been a draw.

There was 3 points there for the taking tonight - first 10 minutes we looked very good. Last 10 minutes we looked the most dangerous  we have all season.

Middle 70 minutes was poor - we gave away possession (inaccurate / weak passing) far too easily and didn't do much with it when we kept it - same old story - 1 striker short and not enough creativity behind the front runners.

I thought Bertos ran his bollocks off tonight and was constantly trying to make something happen. Also impressed with McCain - he is awesome when he monstors his way through the midfield. Rest looked very average.

I'd sign Ruka and Dadi given half a chance - both are class - Ruka's pace was always a threat.

Memo to Ricki - we probably now need to win 3, if not 4, of our last 6 games to make the top 4 - draws are not good enough - start Daniel - with Fred gone he is our main play maker / creator.

He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

I know what you mean about Ruka,

whenever he had the ball i was like "OMG they're going to score."

i know im going to get flamed for this but personally we need something new and like jake said maybe it needs to be in the coaching department or the players (some of them) need to be kicked up the as* because why is it when we attack they normally have 2 men on 1 player then when we defence we give then about 5 meters of space before they pass its very annoying espcially when they can get 30 - 40 meters before any type of a challenge is made.

Frustrating yet again, WHY do they insist on only picking up the tempo in the last 10-15 minutes??? Daniel came on at least 10 minutes too late.

The worst of it is that Perth looked absolutely terrible once we started going for them, begging the question why we didn't do it earlier.

Bertos had a bit of a nightmare by recent standards, although very unlucky at the end.

Can't believe Smeltz didn't bury that chance either, off the bar from 3 yards!? WTF!!!

MUST win next week, and starting the game in the same way they finished today would be a good idea!

Hopefully Fred might be back??

i think this is my first ever moan about the phoenix

but that was  disappointing - we lacked urgency until the last 10 mins

i'm not sure what the thinking was but i don't believe we can expect teams to hand us the points

we had lots of possession but frequently in the first 80 mins seemed to have no-one making a run into the box

surely daniel  must start if fred isn't back on friday

(siggy, mckain and leo seemed to want to impose themselves on the game as did daniel when he came on, timmo played some nice two touch to keep things moving)

least happy i've felt with a point

We were dog shi$!!  We were flying shots at goals as if we were 10 points clear at the top of the ladder - when Smeltzy was clear!  I know we need to score but you need to look for players too!  As De Jong said during the game - we dont need Smeltz crossing balls in = players need to look for him!  Bertos always took on one man too many - and lost the ball!  Hearfield useless!  Smeltz cant score everytime! Daniel desperatly trying to impress! So frustrating to watch!

with two players on the line he was possibly wise to get it off  the floor

fair comment but against perth at home that would have been disastrous. Daniel should start after that. Wonder if he got the assist for the goal? Was so very guttered when Super Leo's shot was tipped to the bar. Velaphi was total class for that save.
We really need to put a bit more urgency into our play though because that was a huge let down against Perth

And man that Ruka is quick - was happy when he was limping haha

Bertos played like a champ, what else can he do but try to take them on when no one is providing support?

I think Smeltz did well getting wide, it created chances and it shows what we could have done if we had a decent forward to partner him.

And why can we not play with that pace and passion in the first 10 minutes where we could make huge strides towards winning the game by scoring early, or at least knocking the opposition's confidence.

Anyone see Hearfield?
I'm all for Daniel coming on and sparking us in to life, but 15 minutes earlier please. I don't know about starting him. He's bloody effective coming on when the other teams in knackered. Must be frustrating being super sub.

For the record - because no-one here seems aware of this - Daniel has been in ice all week and was dodgy even coming on as he did. Ricki said at the press conference that he would have started had he been able to.

Surprised that Bertos has been slated, I felt he was the only player that was prepared to run at anyone - in the first half he seemed to be the only player looking to take the game by the scruff of the neck.

I am surprised and disappointed by the negativity everyone is showing. It wasn't the greatest performance, but they showed heart after they went down and they worked hard - they'll need all of our backing on Friday night if they're going to beat CCM, and I for one will be giving it unconditionally - that is what fans do

Smeltz had a bit of a 'mare, but everyone is going to have an off game from time to time.

Dodd hit the cross that Tim Brown should have scored from. Other than that he didn't put a foot wrong!?

We need to win these games at home. No time left in the season to dominate teams at home and take a point and be happy with form.

He toe hacked a ball in to touch with no pressure. He then looked at the ground as if he blamed the turf. Funny moment, but agree that he did well.

Was the grass a bit long or something ?  The number of underhit passes seemed surprisingly high.

Poor passing from him, and his marking wasn't up to scratch.

Yes, some absolute rubbish spouted tonight. I wasn't happy with the performance but we weren't playing a Village Idiots eleven. Perth have improved a lot through the season and, as hard as it is for people to accept, are at least our equals on the pitch. With that in mind the result was a fair one.

Sigh...back to the 'sack Ricki' crap.

Yeah, I don't get a lot of the comments tonight. We dominated that game and probably deserved to win, or at least deserved it more than Perth did, we just need to find a way to spark that doesn't involve going a goal down.

Agreed, the amount of passes falling short was high.
Seems to still be a phobia about the exploding ball in the 18 yard box too. Tell them not to be afraid!!!

the last ten mins when the intensity was so high - so many passes were weakly hit that could have definitely helped create chances.
