Very impressed by Boxall so far. Also, Caira ain't bad. Hicks is a bit hit and miss, but worth keeping on I think. And why was Spoonley overlooked for Italiano in the actual squad?

agree. He is not getting many opportunities going forward but he is helping Adams a lot.

I think our midfield has been playing well today. For me Muscat, Boxall, Stein and Cunningham have been the stand outs.

We seem to have control of the midfield with some nice short passing

Never good enough to play for England

Spoonley is doing well

That youngster Hicks, aye Dewwy? Is 25 young these days?

agree. Considering it was our major concern, our midfield has stood up

I have to ask, is Italiano the wrong signing? Spoonley has had a great game thus far and his instincts have been bought out well by Goulds coaching following on from his MOM performance last year (thus far)

he was in the mix for oly-whites so 25 seems a bit old...maybe 24?

If someone can tell me what the yellow card on Spoonley is for, that would be great because there is no reason for it. The referee's a wanker

And then Berisha jumps in front of the keepers kick and gets nothing... wtf???

Spoonley has been so excellent all pre-season, better than Moss, if he keeps this up it's at least an interesting conundrum, no?

Great call from the Lino

A lot of positives. Man, we are so lucky to have Carlos. Clearly the best player on the park and really fired up too.

25 has been young ever since I turned 26 in July.

He picked the ball up outside the area.

Cunningham is exciting and he usually gets a corner if he can't make something happen

From what I saw, he didn't. If any part of the ball is on the line, it counts as inside the area.

Liked Huysegums and Boxall so far.

The fact we have dribbled the ball out so many times is frustrating

Cunningham seems good, but once or twice he has gone alone rather than passing

All in all, great half! Bring on the 2nd!

good first half,  we could have had a second.  Brisbane could have also had one.  Great call from the liney to call that offside goal.  Good stuff boys,  keep it up for the second half

Side note. Anyone know where the streamers get their video source from, cos it sure isn't straight from a TV, because you get to see the live feed from the stadium during the adverts. Sometimes you even get to listen in to producer/commentator discussions "off-air".

With all the young blokes doing really well I really want to see us get rid of our three thugs. We don't need these guys anymore-- we have youth, pace and enthusiasm. Long way to go but the movement of the ball is good.

What a different phoenix!!  Adams weak link.  Can we (lia) keep up the intense pressing game??  Watson on for the last 10, scores from 20 yards....

Spoonley - playing very well. Carlos - The missing link 'Nix have missed for YEARS. Adams - Out of position and a yard off the pace Lia - Would struggle to pass gas . . . No more long ball every 2 minutes rubbish - it's nice to see some passing to feet. Very refreshing. They're defensive pressure up front has been great.

Brisbane are leaving a nice big gap between their defence and midfield, and I love it.

harsh on adams. He is a centreback. For his first game and thrown in last minute he is doing a pass job at this rate. Am very happy to see a mix of effective longball and short quick passes. Liking the new nix

Will do, but note that "On" the line, includes parts of the ball that aren't touching, but are "above" the line, vertically - just as for goals.

Read my comment again; I already have a stream! :)

I was referring to the people who provide the streams, and commenting about how they get the video even during the adverts.

Quick thoughts from the first 45':

- Getting up at 6am is a bi-o-tch

- We look like a different team. Better use of space both defensively and on attack. Lots of triangles and good passing.

- Ref is having a great game. He doesn't fall for dives and has the nerve to make his own decisions. The only two things I disagreed with were Muscat's yellow card and Berisha non being sanctioned for rugby tackling Muscat

- Luke Adams is a liability at the moment. He just does not look ready. Lucky he is only up against Stefanutto

- Cunningham was meant to be fast, but he lost two foot races to Broich. In all fairness I know he's had a few niggles, so let's put it down to this

- KFC is ripping it, shame that quick free kick had to be retaken

With regards to Adams, he is doing okay, but I feel he is drifting inside too much when we don't have the ball and getting caught out by balls to Steffanuto. Probably because as a centre-back he does feel more comfortable inside. A bit like Mulligan when he was played at RB by Ricki after being a CM in England.
