Was just thinking the same thing, have the reception at Eden Park......or even the Wedding at the half time break! 20k singing out "Who are ya" on your wedding day has to be special doesn't it.

Shame I didn't think of that before we paid for our venue and everything else. Brilliant idea.

Over 15000 for  a club game Eastern Suburbs v Mt Wellington in the 70's but Auckland v Glasgow Rangers, also in the 70's had 17000.

The crowd was much bigger for Rangers as it was an afternoon game and the Spurs game was evening.

It's not too late to regig the wedding to half time on the field at Eden Park. She'll agree to it if she really loves you.

Sometimes i feel you'd be alright to have a beer with and talk to about football Leggy, but then other times i feel like you would probably turn up chuck the beer in my face and point your tounge out with your hands in your ears like a 5 year old.

Just booked flights going up on the Friday and back on the Monday. Turned out I had enough Air NZ airpoints to pay for both of us one way so only having to pay $111 total for the 2 of us.

Mrs News has very generously manipulated a family celebration to be on that day in Auckland so i can attend.  No 12 pubs but at least I'll be in the zone.

Now to get my brother and as many Auckland based friends etc as possible to join using the "I can get 20% off the tickets" incentive...

Just realised this game is on same time as Christmas in the Park, will probably effect crowd numbers pretty badly. That usually gets about 200,000 people and its free.

Football fans dont go to Xmas in the park

Both events are a one-off. If you're a floater you're gonna watch the weather and listen to what the kids and the missus want and think about getting there and getting back, not to mention the COST. e.g. how many solo eggs bennies could I have enjoyed ova Xmas & N Year  (pretending I was just going 4 the morning paper) if it wasn't for that fuckn Eden Pk losing family ticket?

Actually a decent combo- watch the Nix and then get on a train up the road and go to the concert, which starts at 7:30pm....if the weather's good. If it's shite just watch the 'Nix.

Could catch the night bus from Welly on Friday night for $5 and return on Sunday leaving Auckland at 10am for $5.

$10 return to Auckland not a bad deal.

The buses even have a powerpoint at every seat and free wifi. Toilet on board too.

Damn if only we had known about this earlier. That's not a good deal, thats an amazing and absolutely brilliant deal.

That makes it easier for those that are cost conscious to come up. You could not even get a taxi from CBD to Eden park for $10.

Sweet so whats everyone doing for this game? Where are the fever meeting? Yeah i agree that there will be some sort of effect that xmas on the park is on the same date but fudge xmas in the park who wants to sit in amongst groups of probably intoxicated 14-15 year olds for 3 hours or so, surely the phoenix have the better product.
