Not true, the ads are beginning to circulate hereabouts.

The have a daily post 'promoted' on facebook (and twitter too I think). I may have heard something on the radio too but not 100% sure. It's definitely being put about more than other games

Fuck this stupid game

whilst social media is the way of the future it is also very easily ignored! if I haven't "liked" the nix then I"m unlikely to see or read the adds, if I don't follow them on Twitter I aint reading that either. And if we are realy honets is the FB following any indication of crowds? something like 50k followers but no still can't get more than 10k to a game. Old school posters and street walkers are hard to be ignored!

Yes but on the other hand that is free advertising that reaches 50k people (plus their friends can often see posts too if the person 'likes' or retweets it)

That's a reach of A lot more than a poster in some bus stop on Newtown or wherever.

The only problem can be that sometimes you're already preaching to the converted since the person has to actively like or follow the page, indicating they already have an interest in the Phoenix. However, as you pointed out, they have 50k likes, but can't get 10k to games - indicating it is worthwhile them advertising the game on Facebook etc to those 45k who aren't showing up every week (and the friends of those who like the post or join the event)

Social media has a lot of worth. But yeah traditional ads complement it at the same time, and reach additional people that social media wouldn't.

Full page advt in NZ Herald sport section Mon - Fri = $13, 468  (i.e. less than 500 punters paying $30 p head)

Half page = $6,804 (200 punters @ $30 p head).

If you're interested.

It might have been covered in previous years but.... are there any figures breaking down where phoenix supporters are from?  myself for example, living in napier, get to a couple of games in wellington a year because of sunday night scheduling but would go every week if i lived closer to wellington. I suspect club ownership think there are a few like me as they keep taking the team on the road to reach us and potential others.

If I could pay a one-off fee to someone like Igloo to watch the game on TV in HD I would. Otherwise SKY is of no interest to me.
However, the Christchurch pub gatherings on Phoenix game nights are not bad at all.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

can you not do this already?  isn't that the idea of Igloo or has it not been setup for Nix games - just All Blacks (because I know that was up and running).

Yeah though I remember looking ages ago and it was something ridiculous like $30 for a nix game.

May have come down since then.

Hey mainland there's a thread on the straya section about a paid streaming service. Not sure what the quality is like especially if you blew it up on TV but I'm sure someone knows. I recall the prices being quite decent though.

It's not LiveSportTV, is it?  It's geoblocked for New Zealand (and Australia) because of existing Foxtel/SkySport rights.
