On the subject, though, they hold ANBL finals here, right? And there'd be nothing to prevent an NRL final at Eden Park?
All NRL finals are played in Sydney.

What about in '02 or '03? I think the warriors hosted it?
Nope, both of those were at Telstra Stadium (now ANZ / Stadium Australia)
But on reflection, the difference is that Sydney is The Home of League in Aussie, as Melbourne is The Home of Aerial Pingpong, so moving either of those finals would be a blasphemy. In contrast, our code of football doesn't have a geographical bias.
3" of rain? I hope our travelling faithful took a bar of soap znd had a free shower. I also hope the rain was warm.

Good point, Doloras. AFL is not exactly an "international game".
It is like getting all shirty at the possibility of the Gaelic Football final not being played in Dublin, or .....
Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days
Or the Super 18 final being played in Forth Worth Texas.

Well, London and New York do play in the All-Ireland Championship... but neither of those teams are going to make the final any time soon. But imagine a GAA semi in New York. The plastic paddies would be getting even drunker than on March 17th.

There's probably more Irish in London then Dublin anyway so its a surprise that London doesn't do better.
