Nope, both of those were at Telstra Stadium (now ANZ / Stadium Australia)

But on reflection, the difference is that Sydney is The Home of League in Aussie, as Melbourne is The Home of Aerial Pingpong, so moving either of those finals would be a blasphemy. In contrast, our code of football doesn't have a geographical bias.

Good point, Doloras. AFL is not exactly an "international game".

It is like getting all shirty at the possibility of the Gaelic Football final not being played in Dublin, or .....

Well, London and New York do play in the All-Ireland Championship... but neither of those teams are going to make the final any time soon. But imagine a GAA semi in New York. The plastic paddies would be getting even drunker than on March 17th.

Well, London and New York do play in the All-Ireland Championship... but neither of those teams are going to make the final any time soon. But imagine a GAA semi in New York. The plastic paddies would be getting even drunker than on March 17th.

There's probably more Irish in London then Dublin anyway so its a surprise that London doesn't do better.
