Ridenton needs to learn he also has to track players and cover his teammates.

Great desperation from Fox here.  They are going through us like a hot curry at the moment though.

Commentary howlers tonight:

  • Refer to the Nix losing to "Western Sydney" 4-0 last week
  • After half-time, "Sydney FC 1 - Wellington Phoenix 0"
  • Refers to Janjetovic as Italiano

Yip also he called a white WSW player Bonevacia... I mean come on.

I just dont understand how 11 well paid professional footballers can play worse than your average saturday division 10 side?

And on three different occasions mistook Cacace for Ridenton, Ljujić and McGlinchey

It really should be 2-0 to WSW. Disappointing seeing how many chances we've given WSW even after a half-time chat.

Why why why bring on Parkhouse when we have Singh and Monty on the bench. Absolute fraud of an A-League player.

I think Patterson passed to play after seeing this shark.

Parkhouse must look amazing at training for Ernie to give him 2 years and for K to keep playing him as well.

Shown nothing see about week 5 if lucky

Ah well, there goes the tiny bit of hope left I had for this season. Time to bring (more) kids out. That was a decent set piece, wouldn't really blame any one in particular for that goal.

Klaud is not A League quality I'm sorry... he gets far too much love for the amount of chances he butchers and Burns needs to show up and stop just hanging out up top.

24 shots to our 4 - none of ours have even come close to testing the keeper - 1 goal in 5.5 games - we will be lucky if we win again.

Slater "I'm glad WSW scored in the second half. Nothing against Wellington, I'm just saying" Jesus he doesn't stop.

The biggest issue for me is that we're not playing with any desire or passion.

Didn't hear any Aussies complaining about the Mariners when they got 13 points in the 15/16 season. Also didn't hear any Aussies praising us when we topped the league for most of the previous season

As far as I can tell, it has to do with being part of the narrative, or remaining outside the narrative. At the moment we seem to be in the "a little bit pregnant" condition; an A-League club but a black sheep at best. An  "Australian" club in Wellington, but not really part of the A-League ongoing narrative which is completely Australian-centred, for a good reason. It does not help when we're not a threat to beat another team.

Bonevacia is now "one of them" as far as Slater is concerned, while Burns or Mullen or Galloway are somehow not (as per the jingoistic commentary). There has been a clear increase in this "us and them" mentality which could be to do with FOX, and their commercial reasons., I do not see any chance of change in the current setup.  It could be that an independent commercial A-League (owned by the clubs) might change that. They might invite us to join it, or they may not, but it will be clear from the outset if we belong.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days
