I vote Adam Smith

Here's a story on him featured here. Adam is 17 and currently playing for Nelson Suburbs in the Mainland league and Canterbury U19's in the final this weekend. He can play left or right back or on the wing. He has trialled with english clubs and was offered a one year youth contract by Hull a couple of years ago.

Putting the first vote out there for Robbie hunter.

Robbie is utility player, primarily a ball playing central midfielder but can effectively play in a full back role.

Robbie made his debut in the National League for Hawkes Bay United at the age of 15, and made a number of appearances for the side over the following three years.

He captained Central Federation age group sides for three years, as well as Napier City Rovers -19s for two years. He was NCR -19 player of the season aged as young as 15.

Today he plays for Wharfies in the Cap Premier League, and was Wharfies player of the season two seasons ago. He has been a fringe NZ age group player through -17s and -20s. The scholarship would be a great way to refocus his football ambition, helping to push him on to higher honours.

Well, I have had a good look at the list & there are some top lads but one that stands out to me is the SPRAGG lad.  I have seen him play over the years at the age group National tournaments in Napier & at his last tournament I remember Spragg winning the U15 MVP & tournament MVP overall & deservedly so.  This lad has that x-factor, he is exciting, he has the speed & is able to create opportunities. I can see this lad going a long way &  I wish him the best of luck for this scholarship & his football future. I vote for SPRAGG.

I would like to cast my vote for THOMAS SPRAGG, I think he could benefit greatly from this scholarship & he would be an asset to the Phoenix team next season.  He could train with the Nix & attend uni in Wellington, it would be great to keep the talent in NZ rather than see the talent travel to the states or UK? Go Tom! GG

Arf.

Think this will work: Click here to vote.

Slightly random and unnecessary second page to that voting thing. Just roll with it...Smithy2010-04-11 07:57:51

Wouldn't it have been simpler to just have a new poll on the forum?

Forum poll would show the leader wouldn't it? And ruin the surprise..

No, because the top 4 or what ever then goes to the vote between the YF mods and Ricki doesn't it

Smithy and Ricki. But if the results were shown as it went. Peoples views may be swung depending on who is doing well or not.

Shouldn't it allow only one vote per person Smith ?

When I did it just now if you checked multiple answers it would not accept your submission.

And looking at the summary of votes received it doesn't look like people have been able to submit multiples.  So just goes to show that drunk smith > News.

This.

Mmmmm, everyone's an expert aren't they?  Especially the children.

Questions for you:

1. How many nominees are there for the scholarship this year?  And
2. How many options can you give for a forum poll?

Once you have answered those I will accept all apologies.

Also, the forum poll is very easy to manipulate - sign up for 50 accounts, get 50 votes.  Surveymonkey is much more robust.

So, in summary, Drunk Smithy > Buffy + El Grap.

Do we get a blurb on each of the players?
Permalink Permalink

If they want to promote themselves you do, yes.

Am I collating information on all the people whose names have been submitted...negative.

It's up to the players and their supporters to convince you why you should vote for them.
