The club really need to clarify what the Club Membership is for. I have never been quite sure if it was intended as a way for long distance supporters to support the club financially or has been separated from the Season Pass price in order to offer them at a lower price.

The club is losing money, so I am happy to pay a little extra to help support. But I know others are unable to do the same. It just seems weird that a season pass holder might not be a club member.

I always thought they were the same thing. It's a little insulting if season pass holders aren't considered club members.

Though you can hardly call a club that is losing money 'greedy buggers'

$60 with a ticket is a steal.... it is apparently going to cost me $75.... maybe that includes a scarf... lol..... $25 increase in last year.... however I still believe even with a wooden spoon team... good value
Would prefer to have a scarf over the cap as (even would pay a few extra quid more) and whats more... Moosette hate caps...

Thats fine but what so those of us who may buy a season pass arnt club members unless we pay the extra $60.That to me is bloody ridiculous.just seems to be a way of screwing more money out of those who are prepared to put money up front.

Understand why they have a club membership but honestly that should be automatic if you are prepared to put the money up front for a season pass.
Sucks even more for those of us who have been foundation season pass holders to find that just because the money men have come in they dont rate our loyalty.FKN pissed off to be frank and intend telling the club the same.

club membership or not, it's clear the club really don't value the foundation members that much, the cost for a season pass isn't high and we can't really complain but the club don't appear to be really pushing to meet or even try to meet the fans requests regarding game times etc, I personally don't buy all the FFA bully us into it crap.

Re the season pass vs club membership. Wasn't it the case that in the first few seasons the benefits of the two were combined as one package. But a season or two ago, they separated them and therefore reduced the season pass cost (price per game).

Isn't the main difference that club members get access to some special club webpages and club events?

Either way, don't really see how the club is screwing anyone. They aren't making me buy both. I didn't get the club membership last year. Doesn't make me feel any less about being part of the club.

Wellington Phoenix Club Membership

Our first ever Club membership. This is your chance to become an inaugural member of this very special offering. More than just a season ticket holder, a Club Membership means you are a member of the Club itself. Besides having privileged access to some Club events and see in behind the scenes of the Club with the exclusive members only website, you will have the satisfaction of knowing you are part of an exclusive club of supporters.

A Club Membership is also perfect for supporters outside Wellington. The Club membership will form the basis of a network of supporter ‘cells’ that we will establish throughout New Zealand, Australia and around the world. Club members will have the chance to meet the Phoenix when we are playing away from Wellington.

For a very affordable $50 for an adult, or $25 for a child, the benefits of a Club Membership includes an exclusive membership pack, access to a Club Member only website hosting interviews with players and management and video analysis, attendance at the Club AGM and member only discounts at the Wellington Phoenix on-line store.

So basically a way to tier your membership to the club.  as is this...

  • Paddock Club: the Phoenix’s premier season ticket. Besides receiving all the normal benefits of being a season ticket holder, you will have access to the ground pre match to watch the teams warm-up from close range, complimentary refreshments during the game (refer to Terms and Conditions on ticketing website) and seats in the best part of the ground. You will never get closer and be able to experience the match day build up better than with this season ticket offering.

I got the Freindface code but as I don't have one, so was kinda useless. Did the club even have any special events?

Honestly there wasn't really much value in it, other than helping the club out. I was more than happy to do that but can see why people decided not too.

Yep.  We won a couple of games.  That was pretty special.

No dont think so membership only started last season after Welnix took over.Although i took it up last season i wont be this season as it seems the club dosnt place any value on those of us who have been season ticket holders from the start.Seems they want some loyalty but dont want to show any.

Would love to hear other examples of clubs where you buy a season pass but then also get hit with a charge to be a club member.Could understand maybe if there was decent a discount involved but come on we only get 10 home games then they want us to also pay for a bloody cap and one bloody ticket.
Did hope that maybe YF could have been a bit vocal on this but hey lets not rock the boat.

I think memberships are a great idea BUT you have to truly treat them like members  of a club i.e. they should be consulted and listened to on issues that affect them.  I think it would be a great show of faith to elect someone from the membership to the board

For me, if you purchased both last year, you were getting pretty good value for money compared to previous years. The question is, do you want the benefits that the club membership provides?

The way I look at it is, at least the club is giving the people the option. They could have lumped it all together and charged $250. That extra $50 would have put some people off. By separating, it provide the way of selling memberships to the the people who only want/can afford a seat the stadium. For those that want/can afford the rest, can upgrade their membership.

Win win for both sides.

Nobody is forcing anyone to buy anything, if you don't like what the season pass entitles you to (or doesn't entitle you to) Ballane, then don't buy one. Simple.

I don't know if this has been covered yet (I'm viewing this on my phone, so it's a hassle to scroll through many pages), but separate membership also allows people like me who are overseas to still feel like we're contributing to the club without paying for seats we'll never use.

I can understand how being asked to pay another $50-60 to be considered a member of a football club that you've been a season pass holder of since season 1 can be seen as a bit of a slap in the face.

However 2B makes a good point that they could have just lumped it on to the season price, and had it more expensive. This at least gives people an option.

Perhaps they could do something where they make the club membership option free to foundation members?

I'm not overseas but have moved out of Wellington and can't attend many games any more. I felt a bit bad at not purchasing a season pass but the membership option allows me to support the club financially without breaking the bank, plus I can pay the extra $10 to get a ticket to go to one game that might suit time-wise (not sunday 7pm lol).

Kinda see where ballane is coming from with the slap-in-the-face feeling, but for some people this is actually perfect.

Also surprised to see 2B's breakdown, value is much better now than before - I think welnix are making a real effort around ticketing, some of us will always be disadvantaged though, can't keep everyone happy etc etc

Agree with this.
That's why I only renew my season pass last year (foundation member) and didn't buy into the whole Club membership thing.
Was a bit disappointed that, having had a season pass since day 1 and having been to basically all home Nix matches, I was somehow seen as 'below' a club member, but at the end of the day the club's aim is to increase its fan base and bring as many to the stadium as possible, so I get that.

I have my own gripes about pricing, memberships etc etc. However I look forward to renewing my season ticket and very probably club membership having been a foundation member as somehow it makes me feel that the interminable long fucking off season has some light at the end of the tunnel

Fair enough, and just to be clear, I wasn't trying to start a sack thundersticks campaign yet. I'd just love for the club to get all this clear from the start for once. E.g.

1/ Why have the club "members" got the info and not the season ticket holders? If it's a perk for members then that's fine, but let us know
2/ Make sure details (e.g. passwords, logins, what season it is etc) are correct before sending out the emails... this really is marketing 101
3/ Why give a season ticket price, if we don't even know how many games are in Wgtn yet (or are the 3 tbd definintely not in Wgtn?)

And why couldn't she just be on here answering this stuff anyway? When TonyP used to come on here, he could cut a lot of the angst off at the knees very early about admin stuff etc, without getting involved in anything he shouldn't have. I just don't get why all of this stuff is so hard to get right, and we have to try to work it out for ourselves.

1/ I am both season and Club memeber and have no email contact

2/ My old log in which I tried is not linked to my previous seats and memberships yet. It may never be

3/ The worst that can happen is you get an extra game for the price already set.

Last year I put a comment up regarding buying  3 memberships when I could have got an equivalent for 1/2 the price. Ticketek   tracked my contact details down and call to confirm they could alter the transaction if I wanted.

Don't RANT - be patient you want miss a thing, - paper tickets work well.

#1 - The club is moving the club membership info over to the Ticketek system. That is what is causing the emails with the new login/passwords it seems. I find it a bit weird that the Club Membership info was separate from the Ticketek system, as we bought them via it. It isn't a perk for those who bought them.

#2 - I don't think they had the information on the Ticketek website ready for people to buy season passes as tickets are not on sale for another 3 weeks. The login/passwords are correct but are for the  new Club Membership accounts that were just added into the Ticketek system.

#3 - There is no confirmation that about those prices, people have just found a page on the membership website that appears to show this seasons prices. If you login with your season pass account from last season, you can probably see the page also.

So basically this is all just speculation, and we only know that;

1: Tickets are not on sale

2: Prices have not been released

3: Schedule has not been confirmed i.e. we don't know how many games will be at the stadium

Earlier posts appeared to provide answers to all of these, now none of them are true. I'm confused.

You were right the first time. Tickets go on sale 17th June, Ticket prices have not been confirmed and there are 3 venues still to be confirmed.
