It doesn't come free, but it may come under the most basic Sky package you can get (the one without the Sports and Movie channels), can't be bothered checking it now.

ESPN is part of the basic package at the moment. It's changing though to the sports package on june the 1st(i think) which conincides with it going HD.

I just canceled my Sky subscription.....why they asked?.....coz you moved ESPN, I said

Not hugely interested in the EPL so never had Sky sports. Love the Champs league and Spanish football

anyone tried out isky? I signed up for it. thought i'd watch the npower championship on now, but said I neeed to have multi-room. Fark!!!!

Yes, iSky has been a bit of a let down. Clunky interface, hard to find what you want to watch, and then it's not everything.

Sigh. TVNZ onDemand still the best on demand service in NZ at the mo in IMO

Yup, you do need multi-room for iSky to view live sports.

I almost don't want espn to go HD. I record a bit of baseball,and HD uses up 3 times more space on the mysky hard drive. Could get tight with everything being HD now...Tegal2011-05-17 17:43:54

this isn't sky related as such, does anyone here get a subscription to sky sports the magazine? Notice there is a story on the nix. "Wellington Phoenix: the Comedy". It's the one with Ross Taylor on the cover. Is it written by Danny Hay? Or Billy Harris?

Only issue is that they refuse to (or to be fair, maybe can't) put any live sport overflow onto the highlights channel.

I can only assume they can't for some reason. I vaguely recall being told that by someone too - wouldn't completely take that vague recollection as gospel though.

They can do anything they want - Sky in the UK (and in fact, possibly here too?) have created whole extra channels for certain events - i.e. Olympics. Not suggesting they create and extra channel for Adelaide v Gold Coast but I think their "can't" is more of a "won't".

I imagine setting up an entire new channel just to play an A league game that no one will watch probably isn't very cost effective.

They played it as soon as they could.

Apparently Sky are showing the Nix vs Adelaide game at 2.30pm next week, a whopping 2 and a half hours before the game is scheduled to kick off.

For me Sky do the absolute minimum in nix coverage, no pre match build-up , no post match interviews. Poor. May as well watch online.

I have to agree (=this).

Very hard to develop a broader interest in the A-league if there's no chat around it. It would actually be in Sky's interest to build up this side. Maybe it's a Rights thing.

Seemed awfully strange to be instantaneously laughing our guts out at pink balloons being used as fishing markers by those charismatic fishing fellows. Hilarious.

^this, we get none of the build up to the game, we are lucky if we get to see the lineups pre-game at the moment.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned that this weekends Phoenix game isn't playing live this weekend.

Clashes with nz playing cricket and hockey,as well as the nz golf open.

Nz international sport is probably higher in the pecking order for live coverage. And the golf will probably rate higher as its a one off event.

Strangely I'm ok with it...(and I'm at work anyway so was going to watch it delayed anyway!)

I'd like to see Sky bump the live games to Prime if they run out of space on the sports channels, a bit of free to air coverage might be good for the profile. Probably never going to happen though
