I am very pissed off. Just got MySky installed last week. And decided to record every A-league game. Well, the Perth vs CCM game was fine. But two more games I had set to record weren't there. Instead there was some cycling replay AND sports news. Well done, once again, you farken muppets.
You are the ones who create the sky guide, not me! Instead of showing live football, you show replay of other things!

Just series link "Hyundai a league live" and "Hyundai a league delayed". That way if anything changes,it'll work still.

I think the problem was that the Syd/Roar game wasn't going to be live.  And then Sky changed their mind. So probably was changed in the guide.

And they've played it as soon as they could after. Nice!

Wish they'd do it all season though, instead of just once or twice.

got my gf to write them a grumpy email about the 10 minute delay in screening the game on Saturday. Got the usual stock standard response. She said in her email that it was little wonder so many people chose to watch live sports online without getting a sky sub.

here is the reply for SKY

Thank you for your email.

The weekend is always a very hectic time for sports scheduling due to so many
LIVE and Delayed events coming through and airing on all 3 of our sport
channels. Unfortunately the Australian Masters golf tournament over ran by 10
minutes on Saturday night and LIVE Hyundai A-League coverage started 10 minutes
later than originally scheduled. We appreciate that sport fans are very
passionate about their particular sports and we are aware also that television
viewing is very personal and subjective and any decision we take is never done
so lightly but we do have to try and cater to all the sports we have rights to
and offer a wide selection of programmes. We also hope that despite this you
will continue to enjoy all the great programming on offer here at SKY.

Please feel free to contact SKY Television Customer Services on 0800 759 759 for
further information, alternatively please respond via return email and we will
endeavour to reply within 24 hours.

like that time the 20/20 cricket went over as our game with Melbourne Victory was about to start this year in January.

What can you do in this situation though? Just not show the last couple of overs? Sky wouldve had even more complaints than they got if that happened...

When the phoenix went into added time/penalties last season, that cut into the next scheduled 'program' on sky....

put it on another channel,   I don't know, I'm not paid the big bucks to sort their programming out.

For right or wrong football always seems to get the short end of the stick, I know they would have been panicking if the game on sat night hadn't finished at 9:30pm as scheduled thus cut into the build up of the Four Nations final.  I repeat, the build up of the game.

Yeah but like i said, the Nix games have cut into other programming as well so it goes both ways

I imagine there wouldve been other sport on the other channels? Like cricket etc.

Bit of an exaggeration in this case to say we always get the short end of the stick,of course this particular game wouldn't have got priorities over other games.

The nix ge in January (from memory) was pretty bad,the cricket always goes overtime, and they shouldve programmed so that they were on separate channels, which they had the spare channel to do that time.

Agree. It was only the 3rd round of golf. Unlike the cricket, cutting the coverage wouldn't have stopped anyone missing out on the winner, there was still another round of 18 holes to go.

As I said to my mate at the time, I bet they wouldn't have let the golf run over the start of an All Black test.

I would also hazzard a guess to say that Live Golf may be as popular as the Phoenix whereas an All Black test brings the highest ratings to sky.

This ^

You could also say that it was only the start of the game, and it was another 80 minutes before determining the winner, but a delayed game was the better solution.Tegal2010-11-17 01:52:11

We scored in the first minute against Perth. I would have been annoyed if we'd missed a goal because of stupid golf.

But you wouldn't miss a goal because of the stupid goal - It was delayed.

Also, you could just as easily say golf people would be annoyed if they missed a hole in 1 because of the "stupid football"

I think everyone's a little bit precious really. The reality is, the Phoenix do not get very high ratings in comparison to many other codes.

It wasn't delayed on saturday. When coverage started it was live started 2 minutes ino the game.

Seems like a reasonable thing for Sky to have done. By way of comparison, the same thing happens in England now and then. If live events are sequential and the first over runs, we miss the start of the second. Even if its football - doesn't happen very often though.

We never got delayed coverage either, possibly because they didn't think of it(!). We always jumped in to the event as it stood. I recall coverage missing a goal because of it too.
