If we'd had a world class striker - 12,000 - easy.

I liked the look of Lochhead today. Still not perfect but showing some of his better form. Delivered some excellent crosses though.

God Dewhurst pisses me off though (is there a seperate thread for that)

Dissapointing reception for Rojas, a couple of Boos here and there.

Rotten @ the result. Two games now we've dominated and we've lost both. Unless we get a good striker this season is a likely write off.

We needed to bury one of the 6 odd shots we had on goal in the first 30 minutes, we knew they only needed one shot and they'd score. pissed off with that tbh should've beaten them

Still fuming about the penalty because Thompson was already leaning forward 2 yards outside the box waiting for Siggy to make contact.

Should have been pinged for diving!

Emotions;

Frustration - we played very well in the first half and looked the far more committed side. We deserved a couple of goals but it is painfully and blindingly obvious we need a finisher. The new owners need to decide if they are happy to limp through this season or get active and serious at the next transfer opportunity.

Anger - season after season, game after game you can count of one of the same four footballing retards (SigmUnd, Brown, Lia or Muscat) to do something stupid and get sent off or in to card trouble.

Envy - Imagine what we could do with an Archie Thompson.

Are you serious? The reception was superb. A big JUDAS banner along with some good "judas! judas! judas!" chants not good enough for you? He didn't want to walk through the tunnel after the game it effected him that much.

I don't know what game you watched, but I watched a game where we pressed forward, created chances, looked positive, dominated the midfield (when we had 11 men).

I watched a game where we failed to take chances, an area that Herbert intended to strengthen in the preseason as it was an identified weakness, and the knew owners put the kaibosh on it. I don't see how you can hold the manager to account on this.

The Judas banner was great, saw that, I didn't see/hear much more though, might have been the cameras not catching the action.

Not much to say really..some good endeavour but we just dont have the class or a striker to do well.  Sanchez looked likely all game and deserved his goal and Im sure Smith could do more damage further up the pitch.  Should have been two up by halftime which would have dealt the top 5% blow we needed to.

Sad result, poor discipline partially resulted in a red card, Bertos back to his form of last year [woeful], missed goal opportunities, apart from all that I like how we look. I'd even go as far as to say that this is the best we've looked at this stage of the season since we began. It won't take much to get us up to scratch - we're just missing a target man and need to bench Bertos.

I say target man because we put a lot of balls into the box but don't really have someone who can compete for them.

a target man isnt just a big bloke who is good in the air, Greenie had a brilliant game, he occupied two defenders all game, held the ball up and hardly gave it away. what we need is a direct nippy striker to run into the holes he creates.

tho at the end of the day if the sanchez header had fallen to brown and the brown blaze over the bar to sanchez we would have been two up game over.

We more than did our bit in the fever zone today. Gave Kewell sh*t, Judas the same. The ref was a w**ker as well, half of you on here get the beauty of several replays, we don't at the game so some of his decisions were frustrating to say the least. still we needed to take our chances better

There were a few postives today (i.e. Sanchez looking quite good), but unfortunately the negatives outweighed them by some way.

First half, quite decent, but we simply cannot miss chance after chance after chance and expect to win games. Tim Brown's blast over the bar being the worst of a bad lot, utterly abysmal stuff.

Brown - terrible miss as described above, generally anonymous as usual, just adds nothing whatsoever if he doesn't score.

Bertos - Atrocious again and sadly never going to improve. Crap crossing, crap free kicks, and a 10 year old could probably hit a harder shot than him.

Daniel - pretty much the exact same as Bertos. A bit part player for the past 2 (or even 3) seasons, and now he's starting every week. Just goes to show how weak the squad is.

Ward - enjoys giving the ball away time and time again.

SigmUnd - absolute clown. Got booked and continued charging about like a bull in a china shop. Was a matter of time before he got sent off and he came up trumps by managing to get a straight red rather than a second booking.

As many others are saying, we DESPERATELY need another striker. Greenacre has been doing well, but he simply cannot be expected to do it all on his own up there, nor is he actually capable of it.

Why do we not appear to be trying to sign players? Is it the new owners not coming up with the cash? Is Ricki not looking for new signings? Either way, it's a joke and the squad has to be improved.

The discipline problem is becoming ludicrous as well. We cannot have a player sent off every week and expect to win games, the players need to use their f-ing brains a bit more often.

siggy shouldn't have been giving him a hug then. I applaud siggy's efforts but today he was all over thompson and co - literally - was a deserved penalty for mine.

Actually thought it was highly entertaining, we made some terrible mistakes, our discipline is terrible, but that is hardly news.

It's easy to see why Victory have struggled; so many egos - it's like watching 7th grade at the front- self self self self

Morgan was outside 21 at the end of the game- did he sit in the fever?

What I also want to know is why we applaud the likes of Siggy from the field when he's just made a reckless decision and got himself sent off, effectively costing us the game?

This. I understood why we clapped them in the last game, because neither red card was deserved. However today, it was a clear red card, and in no way something we should be applauding.

It's all been said, but I reckon we played well in the first half. We've been unlucky with the Terry crap and not being able to get more players in. We are stuck with players that have not grown with the league, Bertos, Brown, Daniel.

However we played well and I'm happy with the coaching/managment side of things, we just need new blood.

Also the discipline side of things is getting silly. We are so thin on the ground yet get players suspended every week. It needs sorting.

Siggy was immense up until his two mistakes. He gives more than most on the pitch so maybe that's why his FANS were applauding him? Just a guess.

Agreed but he was cleary gutted. He is always completely comitted and did some great stuff in the first half.

Siggy gives his best every friggin match and therefore he can be excused the odd moment of crazyness.

I thought first half was some of the best passing attacking game we have played in a long time, we created 5 or 6 good chances, was really enjoying it but the more we missed the more it sinks in that we need a forward who can put the ball away.

This team with a Smeltz or (llast season!) Kosta would have won that game today.

Positive signs for me, hope we can somehow conjur the finances to get in that forward we desperatley need, it could make or break our season, I guess the big issue now is it needs to be an Aussie or a Kiwi which reduces our shopping list!!

Thought our makeshift right back did well enough considering he has no right foot, lot of good positive energy in his performance today.

Oh and Harry Kewell is a big waste of money!!!

Siggy has been in great form so far. He was my hands-down MoM until he had that brain snap. I'd much rather we coughed up the second goal, lost the match and had him there next week.

Definately agree that we need a nippy striker. Someone who can run behind Greenie for all those flick ons he gets and theres no one running through. Either this or we get a target man and he does the flick ons and Greenie can play as the striker running through off new guy.

All very well but he's still got himself sent off, gave away a penalty that's put the game beyond us, and has left us down to the bare bones in defence for next week. Was it worth it? No.

Not suggesting he should be subject to a torrent of abuse, but I just don't get applauding players off in these circumstances.

If it was a brain explosion or something else completely stupid then I would agree but all he was trying to do was get on the other side of the player and he made a meal of it. Siggy is never going to not give 100 and in this case it was his undoing. He probably saved us a half a dozen times + in the first half where others would have been no where near it. Applause due IMO.

Did you see the one in the middle of the field where Hernadez went down rolled over 3 times, saw he was getting nothing, and sprang sprightily to his feet and ran on?
