You get a souvenir ticket and watch it at the pub or you get no ticket and watch at pub.

Really? Who would get that?

I don't think I'll get season tickets, unless I move to Wellington, in which case, definitely!

Memberships over priced again at over $21 per match, means if you miss one game then there was no point in buying the season ticket.

$295

still not sure about getting a season membership this year the main reason is ticketek still doing the passes, but also the 3 wednesday night games are not good for travelling from out of town and a game in christchurch meaning at least 4 games i cannot attend.

i had a couple of mates that were going to get a membership this year but they cannot go to wednesday or friday night games due to working till six oclock on those days

I did a double take when I first saw the prices for this seasons memberships. Remembering I paid (I think) $225 last season the renewal price of $280 looked high. Then a quick analysis; last season there were 11 games at Westpac (av cost about $20), this season there will be 14 (av cost $20). Accepting that for some unfortunately the increase of $55 will be difficult, the price per game looks about the same and at $20 per game, looks incredibly good value to me.

Assuming the single match silver ticket price is $30 plus $6 booking fee the "break even" for buying a season ticket versus buying single match tickets is about 8 games. So if you think you will go to at least 7 or 8 games get yourself a season ticket - you can always lend it to a mate for the games you don't go to.

Even if you might only make 6 or 7, if you can afford it, get yourself a season ticket - you know where the money is going - to support your club.

Let's get twisting a few arms and let's try and get the waverers to sign up.

P.S. Well done to the Nix for finally restoring the concession price for pensioners.
He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

Student Renewal     $165.00 <-- that's pretty good.  It says student renewal, though, does that mean you had to have a season ticket last year and if not then getting a student one this year will be more expensive?

Be very disappointed if the season ticket doesn't include Christchurch (and looks like it won't) game as that's the only one I'll definitely be at with a fair few of the others being maybe.

How many season tickets sold last year?  3 000?  Reckon we'll crack 5 000 this season?

Buy a season ticket.

You can always lend it to a mate (or ask them for a bit of cash) for games you can't go to.

Honestly, in the "How to support a team" thread you've got people spitting bile if you dare question their "passion" for some random EPL team, and then over here you've got people whining and moaning about the price of a season ticket for a team they can actually go and support!

This.

If buying the season ticket does not mean you will end up living on the street and rummaging through others' rubbish for food, then if you call yourself a Phoenix supporter you have to buy the season ticket. It's that simple. No ifs/buts/any other arguments.

Season ticket gives you free entry to the Chch game.

Then I'm getting me a ticket.  I would send it up to friends in Wellington (for games I'd miss) to give them the odd free games but cbf going to the post office.  Cheap bastards can pay and support the club themselves.

Oh, one last question.  Could I buy a season ticket in Christchurch or would I need to order it?

You pretty much need to order either on-line or on the phone.

The item on the nix website states that the ChCh game is free to seeason holders.

Two Wed games during term means that the kiddies miss out again, but doesn't matter diddly.

They still get 12 games and our trip down South.

Are renewing members able to purchase extra memberships during the exclusive renewal period, and if so at what price?

what happens if you were a student but are now an adult? surely you would get charged as a renewing member?
Also, would anyone check for student ID?

Another question.  Do the members get discount tickets just for themselves or is there a quota like with the finals series last season?

Just wondering about getting extra tickets for other people (and if we can sit with them).

I  rang the hotline about the same question everyone else has (how do you get extra new tickets on top of Member tickets). I was told you will be able to book them online, though one of the FAQs states "Members wishing to sit together must submit paper based forms and all their booking forms together. " I asked about this and was told to book them online. Am sceptical though.

Also: I can't get the Member login to work? Any help from anyone?

Pathetic. Not apathetic.

So you have to order online/over the phone so how can you prove that you're a student?  And if you can't then won't heaps of people try to rip the nix off and claim to be students?
Permalink Permalink
almost 16 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
Is what has always happened. Otherwise people wouldnt buy season tickets and just buy individual student tickets all year on the internet if they really wanted to rip them off.

No way around it other than to only have adult sales on the internet, and have to do any other ticket in person. (If you only did it for students in person, those people would just get child tickets which is even worse).

Blame the stadiums automatic ticketing system as Red Badge dont have the chance to check tickets as people enter.

Allegedly

I bought student ezy tickets online for my mate all of last season (who is a student) and that was it. They cant check for ID, and 2mins after buying them i had them printed out and ready to go.

Also i know plenty of people who just bought kids tickets and got in on those, because nobody ever checks your tickets before the games

I have just enjoyed a painless and seemingly v efficient renewal for 2 season passes over the phone, very helpful lady, got through first call. The same two seats are guaranteed.

We are also upping our ante by purchasing an extra season pass .. have paid for it and requested the seat next to the other two.

They say they have logged it and will ring to confirm in two weeks prior to general sales, when everyone else has had the chance to renew their own seats.

I think we should be okay because there never seemed to be anyone regular sitting next to us.

Feeling happy!

PS Also thks to Nathan .. originally, I went into the Nix shop thinking I could renew there but he explained it has to be done through Ticketek.

Ticketek have done it again!!  The whole Ticketek membership website seems to be stuffed.  Not only is there the error message on the first page, once you do get in then none of the instructions on how to renew actually work.  After 15 minutes of trying to 'renew membership', clicked on the shopping basket thing at the top right to discover that I could only renew for four of us online (from a group of six).  One member has disappeared and I'm not listed either - when I'm the Primary Account Holder!
Ended up phoning and surprisingly got through straight away - all they could say was the system must be overloaded.
So have given my membership number and credit card details over the phone - and now have fingers crossed that they actually manage to renew for all six of us in the seats we've had for the last three years.  After writing everything down, the lady told me it will be done within the next two weeks - bloody hope so otherwise our seats will go to general public sale on 14 June.
Maybe next year it will work like it's supposed to!

we have had same 6 tickets since season 1 - my mate went online all the tickets were there except for hers - she had been changed to a 'prospective member' - and like feverette she was the primary account holder

Made a call and expecting a call back........hmmmmmm

In the case of renewing over the phone, it is easier if you have membership numbers to give them.

I rang to renew for the missus, since she was a member in 08/09 but not 09/10 but will be again for 10/11.
So she's on the wait list for the 14th also.

TonyP, is there any 'rule' that states only members last season can renew now? Or is it just easier to manage that way?

If you call over the phone how do you verify that you are students? From memory you have to send in a photocopy of your ID's if done online
