Defend & counter tactics have always worked well in the A-League, so surely we want Claudio Ranieri?

Ranieri almost had the defending EPL champs in the relegation spots. We should aim higher

A second season implosion might be one of the criteria for a Phoenix coach though...

If we won the league I'd take a second season implosion!

The only solace I take from being crap is that if we do actually win it, we'll damn appreciate it. Read the Victory forums now - they are all defeatist and depressed despite being in the GF.

No, there are people on here who would complain even if we won it.

Maybe if we won it via VAR decision I could agree but I doubt there would be complaints......But then there is you so?.

People would complain if we won with too many Aussies rather than coalface Kiwis, or didn't get big enough crowds, by which I mean packing the RoF not the crowds that MCFC get. You'd better believe that the likes of BethnalBlue would get louder the more success we had.

If we win the GF, i promise I wont complain. But i will still be bewildered by the fact that we got there in the first place

on another note, that sounds like another fever poll.

"Would you complain if we were in the grand final?"

- yes

- no

- whats a grand final?

I'm going to hypothetically winge about the fact that the Inception title referred to planting the seed of an idea in someone's head, rather than the dream within a dream situation.

I don't know, I just want us to employ a coach with a plan A, B, C and D. One that can change the tactics in a game to deal with any situations and make them to our advantage.

Sure, but you seem to be implying Ramon can't do that. Am I understanding you correctly?

Thats the general consensus from the SS Premiership, the obvious counter argument is that ACFC doesn't hold 60% of possesion when playing in a cup competition and are more direct.

n < 10 for those Club World Cup games, so it's hard to judge his direct football and how effective it is.

Merrick to Jest.

That leaves us with Gombau or even Steve Kean (would Hudson be familiar with Kean, he has spent some time managing in the Middle East also)

well 3-0 against Team Wellington seems pretty effective!

Yeah, I think the approach (which was different in both legs) he took to winning the OFC final 5-0 shows the idea that he's got a plan A and nothing else was a myth. I don't put any of City's losses down to a lack of plan B. Same pattern as always during his reign with a bit more (bad) variance.
