What about at the end of the season. A cahills corner montage of all the Cahill corners. Now that would be 10mins or so of pure podcasting gold.

Enjoyed hearing from A Rod.  He's clearly far too nice a chap.

He just genuinely loves football. You should have seen the look on his face when he saw that we had UEFA WC qualifiers on the TV when he arrived!

The latest episode of #PhoenixCity is out now at http://yellowfever.co.nz/podcasts and in your podcast app!

Football broadcasting legend Jason Pine joins the pod for the first time to chat the past, present and future of the Wellington Phoenix. The Nix beat Tim Cahill 4-1 in Townsville, while there were two thrilling knockout cup finals played in Auckland over the weekend. Oh, and our U20's are off the next FIFA U20 World Cup in South Korea.

We're missing our internationals for the first game so it won't be a good indication. Also AU showed that you can not win for the first eight games and still win both trophies so only drop that optimism when you mathematically have to.

If this years Warriors run taught me anything, its if you stay optimisitic based on technicalities then it hurts so much more at the end of the season.  Nope its all game one or nada, and I'm blaming the pod if we lose.

I haven't watched a Warriors game in years, although when I was a teenager I used to make the trek from the Coromandel to Penrose a few times a year and from what I gather their form hasn't improved, i.e. you're mad if you are optimistic about them at all. The same could be said about the Phoenix, but the Phoenix probably do have a higher percentage of seasons that make the finals (because the finals system is marginally more generous).

But I agree, blame the pod.

I totally thought you were wrong but the Warriors have been in the finals 7 times in 21 years, and the Nix made it for 4 in 9.

Supporting one of these teams is tough enough on the blood pressure but supporting both is insanity, though apparently the Nix is the lesser of the two evils, the more you know.

You should try supporting the Phoenix & QPR - That's stress, hopes built and destroyed.

The Phoenix are heading down to Nelson to take on the Mariners again, after a 1-0 win over them last weekend. NZ are OFC U20 Champions again and are off to South Korea, and the pod discuss with Alastair Boyce from the Backbencher who should be in the Phoenix's greatest XI of all time.

We recorded next episode today. As a public service I stepped up & mocked Patrick over the Fever Drum Painting Fiasco.  I hope Greenie approves.

TO be fair, you painted the picture that all the paint had washed off all over you guys. Each yellow stripe is definitely intact.

New pod is out. Patrick is busy so I'm doing an amateur job on the announcement desk from my phone.

We talk about WELvCMM & Weenix v Tasman, & talk through the other ALeague preseason games. There's Cahill fapfest going on, the SSPremiership is launched along with a set of new strip's. We discuss Team Wellington's new squad & BIG Sam Araldite is in hot water in the UK in what promises to be a story that just keeps on keeping on.

Good pod, but I think you're clutching at straws trying to see anything untoward about Hudson because he was at a game with Big Sam. Allardyce was hardly a ring leader and he's not going to rope in the former Bahrain and current NZ coach into some sort of transfer fee scandal. 5% of the transfer fee on a NZ player wouldn't even be the same as the interest on the money sitting in Big Sams bank account.

No guilty by association please. Sure, NZF should ask Hudson if he knew anything about what was going on, but if Hudson says no then leave it at that.

Interesting to see the rule regarding a fixture being able to be postponed if one club has 3 players away on international duty looks to still be in place.

From Stuff - http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/football/nz-teams/84829120/new-all-whites-fullback-liam-graham-benefits-from-a-fortunate-series-of-events

League One doesn't break for international windows, which might have meant that by going to the US, he would have allowed someone else to take his place in Chesterfield's starting XI.

There is an exception, however, which allows teams with three players absent to have their games postponed - and with two of Graham's teammates being required for age-group international duty with Ireland and Scotland, Chesterfield have done just that.

That rule is a good rule, unfortunately it is an English Football League rule, I think if there were more domestic based Aussies than Tim Cahill the FFA would have the same sort of rule. But as when the Aussie team play it doesn't really effect the A-League as most or all of their players are overseas they don't care!

A bumper edition of Phoenix City is out now, in your favourite podcast app and at http://yellowfever.co.nz!

The A-League is finally upon us, and the pod is joined by Nix Academy coach Paul Temple to chat about the upcoming season and Saturday's game against the Cahill-less Melbourne City. Over in the US, the All Whites are preparing for blockbuster clashes against Mexico and the US, the Women's U17 almost upset Spain at the U17WC, and SS Prem preseason games are underway.
