Loved having Paul on as a guest. Seemed like he genuinely wanted to be there and part of the conversation. Very interesting guest.

Temple was good but misguided if he or the podders think A league clubs are going to pick up an academy kid who can't find a place at the nix - as kiwi kids are imports to Aussie A league clubs.

Fair enough (plodder should know better); but good to hear they're active in finding alternatives such as US college and NPL clubs.

The academy has two Australians in it IIRC and is actively seeking foreign players as well as locals.

That was a hypothetical question - a real "what if" scenario.

Not all that dissimilar to what happened with Kosta tho.

This week we have new Teedubs coach Jose Figuera joining us on the pod. We will be discussing TWs squad, and preparation for the SSPremiership,  as well as reviewing Jose's views on the other teams as part of our SSPremiership preview.

We will also put some of your questions to Jose, so post them up.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

When looking for players for TW, do they actively look overseas for players or is it a case of overseas players coming to them?

You were very successful in qualifying the NZ u17's for the World Cup (the team scoring 35, conceding 7) but were sacked by NZF. Please explain the timeline of events and your emotions when you and Paul were relieved of your NZ U17 coaching positions back in 2015. Did you expect to carry on to the World Cup?

You have inherited the championship winning team. Does that mean you are the coach with the most pressure bearing on them in the Stirling Sports Football Championship? (of is that ACFC, Nelson, ECB, etc)

Would you rather win the Championship (the final) or the Premiership (be in the number one position at the end of regular season)? Why? (By the way, "both" is a cop out answer)

Can you explain the 'amateur-player-but-get-paid-to-coach' loop hole for us lay-people?

[oh... and on the amateur professional thing, this is not a dig, rather just wanting to know more on it's actual practice in the real-world]

How does the whole transfer thing work with amateur football? How do you convince people to move across the country, let alone across the world, when you aren't going to be paying them?

Are you disappointed to be interviewed by Yellow Fever instead?

Perfect timing and good pod, I was just heading out for a walk and checked just in case. The sound wasn't too bad.

Good discussion of the first game. I've been undecided about how to view the outcome.

I'll bow to your knowledge, but not a yellow for handling the ball to interfere with or stop an attack?

Okay. Almost hesitant to post this, but maybe the forums will surprise me...

This week's guest is Adam Parkhouse. We're going to get a window on a whirlwind month in the life of a young footballer getting his big break.

As usual, we will pose some of your questions to him. Try to be nice, eh? Post them up...

Do you modify your own wikipedia page? And if so do you do it from Phoenix HQ?

As a young player coming from Australia, what kind of logistical support did you have from the Phoenix? (I.e. Did you just sign a contract and were left to your own devices to figure it out yourself?)

Or were your flights organised? someone picked you up from the airport, car organised, accomodation sorted and if so for how long? A tour around the city etc?

Interested to know how supported these guys are when they come to a new country.

1-0

I have seen people posting us losing 2-1 and 2-0, it was 1-0 people.
