Plane and match tickets sorted, car rental booked.

Accommodation now just confirmed.

Game on!

Need to think about which gear to take up. Stripey of course but need some travelling and post match garments (maybe eyechart and supporters polo).

Aotea Square seems to be the place for riots up your way.  How about 5:30 pm?

Can we print off some posters?

Will try and get some printed and put them everywhere I can!!

Really happy that there seems to be some interest in the 'Nix, hope you can all come and make Eden Park sound full, I think Eden Park will be a much better stadium than North Harbour (Sorry NHPeter- it is for me!!)and easier to get to for a lot of people-

plus you don't have to drive, can do public transport and drink!

Awesome respect to Foxes!

They've done great service for the Auckland Fever over the years, and once watched half of a game there with me, two mates and Terry when he was filming the apprentice.

Was mint, but the game was in Perth late at night and we played a bit crap. He left at half time! Think that was the Dadi penalty along the ground game.

Massive props to Foxes:

and for all I said about the Auckland transport the other key is leaving in plenty of time so you can still get a cab if you need to!

If you have to cab and can get discount taxis or cheap cabs it should be about $15 to the ground.

Are you a Phoenix member or fan from Wellington and want to go to the Phoenix vs Adelaide game at Eden Park on Nov 19? Deals from $89 one way still available on Jetstar but you'll need to be in quick.

Ha ha! The game will be over by 4 pm (kick off is at 2 pm - plenty of time to get to Aotea Square from Kiwitea St).

Expecting at least 15k on the day which would put Welly to shame, hahaha (from an Aucklander)

Cheers :)

Very happy to be shamed and really hope that Auckland gets behind this game.

If the crowd did top 20k I would ask AkldPhoenix to be my friend on facebebo.

lol Junior82

20k maybe a bit of a stretch, but there's always late buyers and people who just buy at gates

either way, a good experiment to have games outside the capital

advertising here is a thumbs up so expect some positive news and also as long as no more games are to be played at NHS then a decent crowd is on the cards, lol

9K sold with a week to go is really, really promising.  I know there's lots more promo to come this week, especially when the team hits town on Thursday.  15-20K is very likely if the weather is good.

As a Wellingtonian, I wouldn't be shamed if Auckland got a massive turnout - I'd be stoked. Christchurch drew 18K for a one-off match, after all. Matches in Wellington are about drawing a consistent, regular turnout. Matches outside of the capital are special occasions that, by their very nature, draw more attendees - if implemented correctly (*cough* Palmy). Apples and oranges. The pressure isn't on Wellington at all - it's on Auckland to prove this exercise as worthwhile. Auckland is competing with Christchurch, Dunedin etc. Not Wellington. You'd need your own team to do that.

That being said, Auckland is well on track to achieving that. I'd call a lower attendance than Dunedin's pre-season match embarrassing, but I honestly think Auckland can, and will, be a success.

Our group is yet to buy as the head organiser in chief is still waiting to hear back from some of the stragglers but we'll be bring about four to seven.
Two of us will be singing every word of every chant, the others will have fun trying to catch up but I know they'll get into it.

I also know another group who intend to buy on the day so they don't have to worry about sorting out the size of their group.joachim2011-11-12 13:05:02

Also, is everyone going to go to Foxes post match as well as pre-match? I'm not so sure I want to take a train before the game but I wouldn't mind heading there afterwards.

Sheeeit, I'm expecting another 1000 to rock up on the basis of that tight-as-a-nun's-nasty defensive display tonight.

So what is the record attendance for a club football match in Auckland?

If we're talking Kingz/Knights then I'm pretty sure their record was around 13,000, but that was set in Wellington anyway.

Would there have been any higher attendances at games back in the old National League days?

Whatever it is, it would be good to smash it on Saturday.

There were 10k ish games.  Think the Knights had a just under 10k opener at NHS, then I can remember around 10k at Ericsson in the 2nd season.

ScouseKiwi will have the actual numbers somewhere.

As you say, whether prior to the Kingz and Knights there were higher domestic crowds I'm not sure.

JR?  Are you watching?
