Sylvia Park and NHS? Balls to us in the civilised parts of town. Can't they drop in at Queen Street or Newmarket for a lunchtime signing?

Over 1000 tickets sold on Grabone, not bad. Still hoping for many more tickets being sold over the next few days.

Just a quick question: The thread reckons Fox's prior to the game. Wouldn't it make more sense to have pre-game drinks close to Eden Park so we're within walking/staggering distance?

Go for it but you'll miss the game.

Ha ha! The game will be over by 4 pm (kick off is at 2 pm - plenty of time to get to Aotea Square from Kiwitea St).

Yeah better make it a bit later give you chance to get a bit more piss into you so you more likely to front instead of wimping out

Ok I'm surprised no one has made this point so here goes:

All these thousands of people in Auckland that are turning up for the phoenix, why don't they go to Auckland city nzfc games! It's such a disgrace, you're all a bunch of Australians.

(see what I did there)

That is exactly the point!
A much bigger crowd to watch 2 sides that arent any better than Auckland City
Why is the crowd going to be probably 10 times more than at Kiiwtea to watch a product that isnt that much better if at all?

You are particularly obstreperous tonight. Is it that time of month?

Probably because it is better.

Are you also claiming that the nzfc is better than the Aussie state leagues? I'd say they're about the same, both are the countries amateur competitions.

But we obviously have differing opinions on quality of each competition. So let's not go there? Been done to death. The bar has been raised significantly by some teams in the nzfc,I like what I see. Some more marketing and perhaps playing in better parks (even stadiums one day) would help attendance.

It just sounds like a "I'll meet you after school for a fight" thing you're trying on. It's pretty pathetic - even for you.

What's going to happen if I do turn up? You make it sobd like the will be trouble. Why would I have to feel brave (and wimp out if I don't come) to turn up to a football ground?

Way to encourage more support for the nzfc. You're sounding like a hooligan.

Maybe a hooligan wannabe - but really just comes across as a boofhead (and bitter and twisted at that).

Jordybean, your comments are exactly what turn people - who aren't footy fans - away from the game, they expect that all footy fans are moronic boofheads like yourself. theprof2011-11-16 06:58:25

That's a direct quote from Nathan Greenham from an interview last night.

PAX obviously doesn't equal actual sales.

At westpac in includes season memberships, stadium members and corporate boxes. Unsure what it means for eden park. I imagine a large amount of season members won't be going up though.

Oh and I'm pretty sure pax also includes comps. There could be a large number of those for this game.

My ticket was PAX 97. I'm not sure what that means.

But I still don't understand why Nix vs Cakes gets 15,000 odd pax which is 10 times more than ACFC vs Whoever, if the standard of football is identical. Mind control rays?

It only fits 5k max, so no. Unless you want another Hillsborough.

Three for me, and two for them.

^they get between 500-1000 depending on the game. 2500 for a derby game and 3000 for a final.

Kiwitea Street can only hold just over 3k, but it would be good to see them sell out for most games. I bet they could do this if they did some decent advertising.

Side Question: Anyone heading down for the O-League game? Study means I have to make a choice between the two games, and because the Phoenix are a once-off I'm going to that instead, even though I would be breaking the no1 rule as a City supporter. It would be good to get 3k down there as the prize money of CWC is shared among the NZFC teams.chris.acfc2011-11-16 10:12:13
