To be fair, there was a comment from Dewhurst about the 55th min which was quite accurate. We were a bit more awake but a still ugly.

We've scored a goal and the confidence lifts. Still doesn't mean we have played well. I'll take the ugly win though

Question for you Agent47.

At any moment in a game who is the most important player on the field?

Christie on for Ferrante. Called it half time.

No, not the ref. The most important PLAYER is the one without the ball. Not sure what game you are watching but Ferrante has done a great job of killing opposition space, guiding opposition attackers away from dangerous positions and ferrying them to where our defenders are. He has also diligently tracked his runners and killed off 1-2 chances. He may not have done much on the ball but off it he has been superb. Turn the commentary off and watch whats going on where the ball isnt. He has been one of our best players.

Server crash.

Listen to Dewhurst? Are you taking the piss? Ferrante has done nothing without the ball, this week and last week.

I was taking the piss when I said the referee

I could argue the keeper because he saves goals, the striker because he scores them, the central midfielder because he is the field marshall (isn't that where Ferrante was playing? Is he doing that? Do we look directionless for the last 145mins before that Bertos goal) and the sweeper because he sees it all unfold in front of him

Penalty. hearfield bundled over. Smeltz lines it up, roof of the net, 3-0 cue shots of topless men in the crowd.

Referee gives a penalty to Bertos. Gets bumbled over travelling along the top of the box.

Smeltz converts 3-0 86 gone.

Wasn't there something in the last podcast about Smeltz not getting 12 goals??

A bit soft but payback for that horrible challenge on Smeltz a few minutes before.

I can't believe we're winning 3-0.

Hurrah, Smeltz converts a penalty earned by Hearfield! Time to bring on Costa for a quick run perhaps?

No I think I've called it pretty accurately. I would ask what game you are watching but its apparent you aren't actually watching whats happening in front of you.

Truly a game of two halves. sh*t and sluggish in the first half but great in the second. Top 4 still on.

Three for me, and two for them.

Don't think we were great, but at least we took our chances and got the win. That's the least you can ask from your team. Well done, fellas.

Jets paid the price for woeful finishing.

My streaming was really choppy for 70 mins, so not a lot I can say about individual performances. Moss made some good saves, Daniel, Bertos and Hearfield looked busy.

Looked as though we got slaughtered in the 1st half, more even in the second, and finally looked more confident going forward once we went 1-0 up.

well Phoenix Team Coach Russell Nixon really earned his paycheck with an inspirational half time pep talk. A vast improvement on the first 45 minutes I felt. foal302009-01-04 21:07:59
