He didn't want to come to Wellington 2-3 years ago - doubt he would want to now. He definitely has the goods - make no mistake, but I can't see it happening

I reckon we should at some stage sign him on loan for a few weeks or something, just cause. It would be awesome

Cos we are really short of central defenders and/or ageing/slow midfield players... Jag2011-03-22 12:37:28

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Elliots always injured though...

Vicelich is easy A-League level, i wouldve preferred him over Elliot any day.

(in case you didnt get my post i said loan, as in case of cover for injury... etc).

I guess we'd sooner see Clapham though.

I think the Fowler novelty has worn off well and truly.

It's always going to be hard to break into the A-League if you're not established in another pro League somewhere, and you're over 24, so don't count towards a yoof spot.

(Lets not even mention the GINGA problem.)

i think the Novelty FOR Fowler has worn off.... he looked pretty much disinterested for large parts of last year. Perhaps offer him job here as Asst coach / Player??

Whatever happened to Aaron Scott?

Wasn't he really good for a while back around the Bahrain game or something?

I notice we're in the usual situation of losing players while everyone else is signing players...

Just like Gold Coast?

The only players who have signed have been between A-league clubs.  Most leagues around the world haven't finished yet.

Would not mind Ali Abbas, who is off contract at Newcastle. A vast improvement on Diego & Toto.

WTF?

Have you watched him play?  Hugely hit and miss, theatrical and lightweight.  Grossly over-hyped by the Aus media and not as good as Diego.

as we have 9 odd players to sign, one or two signed from current A league clubs would be nice

Auckland will rise once more

Going by stats Abbass has a lot more going for him than Diego. He is 10 years or so younger, has scored about 25 goals in 100 games. Diego has played a similar amount for 2 goals?

If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid

Diego tore up the Asian Champions League for Adelaide.  Abbas tore up one corner of the EAS stadium as he collapsed to the ground clutching his ankle.
