By clubs I mean Adelaide...they're schizophrenic...

Allegedly

These are the only ones left I'd consider; Jack Hingert, Stephan Keller (Fgn), Brendan Gan, Stuart Musialik, Kofi Danning, Byun Sung-Hwan (Fgn)

NEED to Re-sign the following;
Tony Lochhead
Nick Ward
Dylan Macallister

as we have 9 odd players to sign, one or two signed from current A league clubs would be nice

Even if the current off contract A-League players are all pretty sh*te?

I'd consider Danning, Nikas, Angulo and Abbas as mentioned (maybe needs to stay in Australia for citizenship reasons).

Perez released by CCM because he wants to be with family. Sign him up for three years so he can bring the family with him!

YAWN.
A very insightful post.

Thank you.

Just thinking, maybe we shouldn't sign Bruce Djite, because of the BLACK problem

As cultured as Che Bunce's left foot and as profilic as John Lammers

Anyway, not a lot on that list of off-contract players. Stuart Musialik could be an interesting signing, though not really the type of player we're crying out for. Paddy Nikas looked really classy for the Fury. Hingert could have potential at right back. Studman had a cool name and hairstyle. There's a lot of "dregs" coming off contract though.

Just like Gold Coast?

The only players who have signed have been between A-league clubs.  Most leagues around the world haven't finished yet.

Yeah I know...was more of a knee-jerk reaction to the Smeltz news. In Steve-O fantasy land I had Rojas on one wing, Ifill on the other, and Smeltz through the middle for next season!! Suffice to say that's now completely out the window!

Still, I'd like to think we could sign SOMEONE soon...there must be A-League players available. Of course they've got to be good enough but our squad is diminishing by the day and I don't want any of the 'they need time to gel' excuses when we sign about 5 players before the first game of next season...

James Downey was the name mentioned.

This season there has been a few players signed out of the VPL to have done well, so I hope we have someone watching for some talent there.

We kind of started the trend with Manny so I think we can assume we're sstill looking.  ALthough by all accounts some bloke named Michael Ferrante was one of the real standouts last season and we've been there.

How's my driving? - Whine here

Yeah, Ferrante was an interesting one - remember watching him in 'reserve' games last season against Teedubs, he was the best player on the pitch, easily outshining the likes of Mulligan and Clapham.

Not sure he's not the A-league standard, but should have done better for us than he did.

That's" The Phoenix Effect" in action. Thwarted or under-performing on the Nix roster, as soon as they are moved on, they excel with someone else. Sheez.

Improving,,on the up, a work in progress from Italiano and the Nix. Bring on the bathroom bling in '24! COYN!

Quite a few Fury players I would think. Whether we'd want any of them is another matter.

You could argue that a lot of the Fury players weren't A-League quality. Studman, Williams and Hughes would be okay, but none others.

Michael Fitzgerald for right back. Attacking, get him out of J-League 3rd div. Even take him on loan if we have to.

Footballers never go on holidays :P

Though it would be a good signing. I don't think he's an amazing player - but seems like a good team man with a decent shot on him and is still better than Hearfield. Don't see it happening, though - 2 more years left and why would anyone want to leave the Roar atm unless it's for money reasons?

He did say on Twitter he's going to Welly, though..valeo2011-03-26 13:25:54

He's a good player but he's not a right back - he's a central midfielder that can play on the right if needed but he's certainly not a fullback.
