I would really like to keep Troy as i think heis a real talent ( especially once he learns how to cross!)

Unfortunately I think due to certain people pounding him every time he goes for a coffee, he might be better off in a slightly bigger town so the poor guy can go out in peace

Auckland will rise once more

We're the worst in the league after NQ and GC

To be fair, we're pretty much equal with Sydney and CCM. The top three explain themselves but the Glory and Jets are good efforts for this season.

Sydney didn't get much more than us. And actually neither did Central Coast.   Our crowds were probably ok considering the weather ruined potential walk ups

That's the thing - import slots aren't dropping per se, they're just being re-distributed to Adelaide.

They have 5 currently, plus Slorey, plus theyve signed that Kosta rican attacking midfielder who hasnt featured.

However Flores will probably leave, and maybe even Van Dijk. And cassio could get citizenship allegedly.

But for us, its just us dropping Diego and Toto, and picking up some much better starting players. Because we have a solid team now, where striker and RB are our biggest demands.

His exposure through the recent games with the Nix may be enough to have him noticed and assemble a compelling show reel of his talents.
If that happens I hope Ricki locks Marco into an AW spot in March...before Chile does!

The March games are friendlies though so wouldn't stop him playing for Chile.

They are FIFA sanctioned friendlies and represent caps so they most definitely would stop him playing for Chile.

I don't think Chielan football is on his radar RedGed.  If ColoColo came calling maybe but Marco wants to be somewhere wwhere he will A, get game time and B, get good training and coaching to help him develop and I doubt Chilean clubs would promise him that or match A-league wage offers. I thought they had to be competitive games to rule a player out of representing another country and a friendly, regardless of FIFA sanction, didn't constitute a competitive game.

Incidentally, what type of friendlies aren't FIFA sanctioned?  Is that like when the All Whites played Blackburn and Sevilla(?)?

Article 18 Change of Association
1 If a Player has more than one nationality, or if a Player acquires a new
nationality, or if a Player is eligible to play for several representative
teams due to nationality, he may, up to his 21st birthday, and only
once, request to change the Association for which he is eligible to
play international matches to the Association of another country of
which he holds nationality, subject to the following conditions:
(a) He has not played a match (either in full or in part) in an official
competition at A international level for his current Association
,
and at the time of his first full or partial appearance in an
international match in an official competition for his current
Association, he already had the nationality of the representative
team for which he wishes to play.
(b) He is not permitted to play for his new Association in any
competition in which he has already played for his previous
Association.

A friendly isn't a competition match, thus he could play for Chile after playing for the AWs.

Cheers News. I wasn't sure how strong Chilean football is. I thought perhaps though there could be family connections to other stronger South American teams and leagues..but who knows?

OK.. Maybe we shouldn't select him for the friendlies - would give Chileans a chance to see him play against good international sides.

I really don't understand the wording here.  A player can play for a different association if they've never played for another association previously, yet it says at the time of his first full or partial appearance in an intl match in an official competition he had to have been naturalized for the country he later wants to play for... surely that right there means they can't play for another association because 'at the time of his first full or partial appearance in an
international match in an official competition' means he has played for another association and thus can't change.  Have FIFA been lazy in their wording or am I misunderstanding.  I was going to say I know what they're trying to say but I really don't.

Read more carefully LG. You can play competetive A internationals for one association only (but this does not include friendlies).

However, if you played for an age-grade international team in an official game prior to the age of 21, you can change to another association and represent them provided you do it before the age of 21, had not represented the original association in a competetive A international, and were eligible to play for the association you're changing to at the time you made age-grade international appearence for the original association.

Well turns out Marco and his father have rejected the first contract offer. The nix offered the exact some terms as he previously was on which was basically the lowest contract. Pretty insulting.
