he played LB v melbs so i think u will find herbert sees him as either as cover. anyway musa, hingert and rowe in the same squad is stupid

yeah i was mistaken when i thought id heard he had played DM a bit. My bad. Definintley not an option as a LB though.

Think we do need cover there still, and seeing as Rowe is not a CB, then Musa or an equivalent will probably still need to be signed. A CB that is

He's played at DM for Wests in the Central League this season.

aha i knew i wasn't making it up. He has the athleticism to make it as a deent DM i reckon. Plus covers CB. I'd say if he matured enough in a midfield role then could be a decent option.

I just feel slightly bad for the guy, we give him a deal, he gets played out of position, then gets the cut, and now cant even look at US colleges. But thats football i guess

not completely surprised

from the little I've seen v Melb and at 1 training not sure he'd have the mobility for mid, do still think he could make it at CB though

and that throw of his would be a bonus

The wallet can only be opened so far. And if as mentioned here he didnt wanna stay then the money doesnt come into it.

I think this is a wilful misinterpretation of the suggestions here.  I think there is a fair question here which is if young NZers can't get a break with the Phoenix then where are they going to get a break in professional football

Seems to be a few youngsters sigining overseas contracts at the moment - but only apprentice ones which is very different to supposedly pushing for a spot in a team as our u20 players are suppose to do.

Watching the u17's and the u20's there is talent there. But it does need to be given a chance and hopefully that will be given at the nix.

(they already do - but could possibly do more)

Indeed Jimmy Dean

Phoenix simply need a youth team in the Youth League. Not going to happen apparently. Sad. Priority? Yes given the likelihood that only a few of our under 17 side are likely to pick up anything.
