Now,  who will be our marquee player this season  ??

Dunno about marquees, but I would love to hear some names of new players at Ricki's presser this afternoon. And one of those names better not be "Sery Elie de Campos".

I'm actually hoping to hear some positive noises about backroom staff as well. I can forgo the Marquee, can't see that as Welnix's style.

There was something said about increasing staff but I don't remember what.

Basically existing staff staying, and something about additional.

We'll all be getting an email from Sery asking us to donate some money to help pay for his poor grandmother's rare illness, with the promise of returning your money + 200%.

No, probably Andy Serkis as Ian Dury in brilliant biopic "Sex and Drugs and Rock 'n Roll: The Ian Dury Story" (recently out on DVD) i.e. a twisted, belligerent genius cripple...who also scores more than Andy Serkis' other characters... (with chicks that is).

Is that really Ian Drury? Sort of reminds me of Gary Glitter (before he became all pedo).

I have a feeling one of them will be Webber. I know there's hundreds of ex-PL strikers out there but he's the one who is probably one of the most obvious. And he must be desperate to get back into football by now (not that you'd have to be desperate to sign for the Nix )

Here's a left field idea; WelNix doesn't pick up Warner's player contract, instead Warner is offered a position as goalkeeping coach / technical analyst - assuming he is appropriately qualified and experienced. We sign a decent Australasian keeper (if there is one still available) and sign a class creative midfielder with the import spot freed up. Just a random thought.
He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

Might happen but not this season!

perhaps in a months time other clubs can talk to him seeing as he only has a year left on the contract? Maybe?

Could be that all contracts are borked seeing as they were with Century City Football until new ones are signed with WelNix. Hard News2011-09-24 13:49:34

Morrison said he would like to see more Kiwi players but he would be guided on that by Herbert. One of his priorities would be to work with New Zealand Football on a feeder team for the Phoenix, to provide a "broader base" of local talent
With a bit of luck we could have some more Kiwi input to the team via a reserve/youth team again and a Kiwi quota of players for the first team, if the above quote transpires.

Huge leap from what he says and a sure step to getting it wrong.

A good enough kiwi player makes it on his own accord, gift them places via quota and all you do is weaken the squad and ensure the players don';t have to strive to make the level.
