Also makes you wonder what plan B is if Sanchez gets injured this season? We don't really have a backup attacking midfielder

Thats what I was hoping that young argentine(?) was about. Potential emergency injury replacement, otherwise I guess we would have to change formation.

You mean the Uruguayan?

The very same. Wasn't sure of his nationality hence the "?"

He was a CAM wasn't he? Sounded alright, captain of the youth team and getting some game time for the 1st team or something?

Could potentially be futute short term, short notice injury replacement in the unfortunate scenario where Sanchez is kept out  for the medium-long term?

Not sure an import would want to hang around for months, just incase some one gets hurt.

That would explain a couple of things then.

Yep, seems like they have been nursing/rehabbing hoping for it to come right, it's hung about and they have finally bit the bullet and booked the surgery to repair it.

Sanchez looked sharp in Christchurch. Workrate wasn't quite there so maybe a wee bit off match fitness but other then that he looked good, really dominated the midfield. Not quite sure why people are saying he's ready for a start though...

Lochhead gone for 6-8 weeks, so that's a game for Ian Hogg for the Phoenix and the All Whites, some may say that's good news?

Just heard that on the radio.  Sadly a lot of people will be happy.  Poor dude.

I guess if you had to choose a time to be injured now wouldn't be too bad, he's not missing too much action.

Stink. I guess now all the Lochhead haters can see what he does by his absence. Again...
Pity there's not more time in the season. We only ever appreciate Lochy when hes not playing.

that does suck, thankfully we have a lb replacement, it does mean there has to be questions over the rest of his career.

Queenslander 3x a year.

Lucky for him that we are heading into the offseason, so he'll only miss one Phoenix game and probably only two AWs games.

Would think it will be a choice between him and Hogg. As long as he doesn't price himself out of the market, I expect to see him back next season.

Surely we should keep both? Even if Lochy stays on it would only be another season wouldn't it? And as long as we are keeping him on the cheaper than now we should be able to keep Hogg too both as back up and our future LB?
Wingbacks are hard to find in this league as we have experienced since day one in the RB role. If we are going to lose one predictably in the future then ought to be rearing our own replacement. Hogg still seems like the most viable candidate outside of luring in demand Australians or Rowe making huge leaps in his game.

Boyd is coming back from his broken arm. Sounds like he was still wearing something on his arm today.

No Lindsay on today's team sheet, was marked as not selected. Whether is that cuz of injury I dunno.

So Ifill gone for the season.  Any news on Fenton's shoulder (is it the same one as pre-season)?
