The fact that DD or anyone at the club isn't trying to make money of the Tim Payne hype, shows we are not a serious club. Easy way to get rid of this seasons stock.

The only thing will be a YF tee or something, but that doesn't benefit the club financially.

Yup, comms and social media are not their strong points.  My 18 year old nephew could nail this.

Possibly every one is on holiday

Saying that I don’t want anyone to hassle Timothy - he needs to focus on figuring out how he is going to stop Marmoush, Doku and Trossard rather then playing on his instagram

Auckland will rise once more

The AFC socials team would no doubt be doing a lot better if the same thing had happened to Callan Elliot. A lot of that may be down to the fact that AFC throw a lot more money at advertising/marketing than we do/can though.

Let's definitely explore all the ways of somehow making this situation as negative as possible. Great idea.

Tommy already down to work earning his $250k

The All Whites are now set to have millions of people paying attention to them who otherwise might not have, as they face Haiti and England in friendlies next week, before turning their focus to their World Cup opener against Iran on June 15 (June 16 NZ time).

Centre back Tommy Smith said the way Payne's profile had "blown up" has "blown his mind".

"We're all asking him every day – you keep track of how many followers he's got.

"In this day and age it shows how quickly social media can take off and become viral.

"It's great for him and it's a nice little side story, but we obviously don't want that to become a distraction for him at the same time."

FFS Some of you really do need to take a think about why you bother coming to this site. In your haste to bash any thing the Nix does its time some of you sat down and had think about what you say. Maybe take the time to find out some stuff.
The Payne stuff has blown up in what the last 2/3 days yet some of you seem to be expecting the Phoenix to be leveraging and making money out of it.
Pretty sure know that he is with New Zealand Football there will be plenty of restrictions in place as to what can and cant be done in and around the world cup.
Just who you expect to making stuff to sell im not sure as many will vouch dealing with Dynasty and trying to get anything produced quickly just dosnt happen UNLESS your the Warriors.
Yet some STUPIDLY seem to think 2/3days after this story blew up the Nix should be out there making money out of it. Give yourselves a friggen upper cut thats some of the dumbest posts i have seen.
This place is getting worse if thats at all possible really wonder why some bother.

no memes are going to get the club any money or interest. I just said an idea to get rid of stock and quickly, ballane mentioned vouching with Dynasty.
All the club needs to do is contact Dynasty and ask if the shirts on sale, can be for the same price if fans put Payne and 6 on the back and not get charged for printing to get rid of the stock. Not rocket science is it.

But then again I get blasted by a bunch of fans because I have what seems to be some sort of ambition/an idea that benefits the club on a positive story about one of the clubs players.

I guarantee most other A-League clubs would be doing some sort of tangible campaign instead of posting memes.

They don’t need to. Everything about the Nix is inside their heads 24/7…

Plus we don’t know what’s been done, it’s an All White and World Cup thing currently where we don’t want to be cynically stepping on Payney’s toes and the better he plays the better the chance of retaining interest post-cup.

What do we want that we can achieve from this? New Argentinian owners? To convince Peter T to stay with us?

Try and sell a bunch of Tim Payne merch…?

The latter I guess…

Dynasty isn't even trying to cash in. They have just one meme posted. There is a sale on Nix gear, but its at least $45 to ship to Argentina.

Memes will get interest though.

LOL they should be.

Dynasty/Nix trying to cash in = bad and won't do it even though it will financially help the club.
YF making a tee about Payne = good and won't make a single dime for a club.

No wonder we are viewed as a loser club.

You certainly view this club as a loser club. You're certainly a big downer on here, I would hate to imagine what's it like in your head.

I don’t know what Dynasty are thinking? Low stock and not wanting to make more gear and get left with stock hard to move if there's no major interest beyond the frictionless effort of following someone on instagram?
