I'm hoping Dadi is fit and that Greenacre doesn't come back into the team. Haven't been much of a fan of the guy as a striker this season. Yes, he's a hard worker but for me Dadi offers so much more: he holds the ball up better, he's much better in the air, he has the skill, the x-factor that Greenacre unfortunately lacks, and he's not that much slower either. Just that annoying tendency to fall over and bleat at the ref but I can handle that if he's helping to get us three goals a game.

btw, I'd have Costa on the bench in preference too. Watching the replay I realised that Costa did some excellent work in that last 20, and personally I reckon he and Ifill have shown a good understanding this season.

Yep, but I'd like to see them play together. I think like Sergio van Dyke who had a much slower start to his A-league career Greenie's got a hot streak coming, and it wouldn't hurt him to have a strike partner. Neither Ifill or Costa is that guy- though his best goal was a class finish from a Costa pass.

He's not as big as Dadi or as strong in the air, but I still think he has something to offer and we haven't seen it all yet. He's not the targetman striker and we've been asking him to do that on his own for most of the season.

Can't change a winning team though!

Ifill has said that the best finisher in the team is Greenacre by a mile. Partnering with Dadi would see him in a better amount of space to get a decent shot on!!!

Greenacre + Dadi = Gold!! sorry but that's who Greenie needs, and who Dadi needs.

Disagree. Greeny will be ace now that he has someone to lean off. He was the 'target' man playing back to goal before Dadi came in. Greeny isn't that type of player ..  Dadi is. Greeny will feed off Dadi and prove to be a lethal forward in a lethal attacking third. Ifill in there with bertos and we're looking sweet.

ive got a song that wont take long, Adelaide are rubbish.. the second verse is same as the first.. ADELAIDE ARE RUBBISH

Cant see Dadi being fit for Perth. 15 stitches to the face is pretty serious stuff.

Its no longer a problem.

Prime News said he should be ready for Perth. Not sure on their reliability though.

Yeah , if the cut is anywhere near where he's gonna head the ball, then forget it.
Chance for Greenie maybe

Can flappy Velaphi have a bad game against us?

This season, it took a deflected Bertos thunderbolt to beat him for that win.

Second time around, 6 days before we beat Bahrain, he denies Hearfield and Caceres game-winning opportunities after we finish over the top of them.

Last season, he has two clean sheets against us, and again denies Bertos a game-winner in the third game, a game that perhaps cost us a playoff spot.

From the Herald today

"Dadi was confident he would play against Perth: "If the coach picks me, I will be playing," he said from hospital yesterday.

"It would be nice to go back there and see some of the fans and go back to the club where I used to play. But I'm a Phoenix player now. I wear the yellow and black."

Just the sort of thing i like to read on a Sunday morning.

SST article has him hopeful of playing too.

Needs a cack load of wound healing to occur in the next few days - I am doubtful unless the cut is extremely superficial (but 15 is a lot of stitches).

Correct. One header and it opens up and we'll be a sub down for most of the match. One match out perhaps?

He was good in that game, but he still missed an absolute sitter. Greenie should be above him in the pecking order no doubt.

Super-thick lucky head bandage and he'll be sweet.

VERY good point Oska

Dadi + super lucky bandage = a certain 3 points

We'll be unstoppable (although Richie hasn't been using the bandage much recently - has he run out of cloth. Or maybe he needs more gaffer tape).

So when exactly is this game?  I heard Friday 12.00am but I can't help but worry that Sky TV failed.  If it's 12.00am here then that's a thursday game for them and we don't usually have those, so is it infact 12.00am saturday?

Perth and its sh*tty timezone...

Big game for us, Perth will be under the pump after two poor performances in 2010.

Would love to see Siggy the Enforcer back in the lineup. Can't see RH changing the backline though.
Will be tough game playing over there but hopefully another 3 points in the bag.

Why does this even need to be stated? Greenie is so far above Costa in "the pecking order" it's not even worth talking about.

If Greenie is fully fit and depending on whether Dadi is too (his cut is under the eye brow, which isn't where you should be heading the ball anyway) I think they both have to start with manny/lia/brown dropping to the bench...my hunch would be manny.

Dadi's cut is under the eye, so it is not a big deal for heading....as long as the eye is not closed.

You have to feel for Caceras.....two weeks ago he was outstanding as man of the match against CCM. Now no one mentions him. He got 20mins against the Roar and sat on the bench for the whole Fury game. Football is a tough game sometimes.

Ricki is doing well this season but I sometimes wonder about his use of substitutes. Caceras, with his good ball control and quick feet would have been ideal to sub on in the wet against the Fury. When we have been well ahead in the last couple of games I can;t see the point in keeping key players on the field when the game is won.

With no reserve grade players will need some match time. We can not expect the same 11 to play the rest of the season. Imagine the reaction if Ifill had been injured in the last 5 mins against the Fury. when you watch european games often the coach will clear the bench when their side is 2-0 up with 10 or 15 mins to go.

exactly how I've been feeling.
If your gonna put a CB on the bench, then surely he should have given him some game time. Otherwise use the bench for impact players. I thought he should have given caceres at least 10 mins. Pretty harsh on him imo.

If Greeny is fit then I would like a bench of Caceres, Costa, and Manny.

But then Sigmund is there too, and how about Daniel too?
Guess they might be the extra couple of players he plans to take with him?

I know it shouldn't but Costa seems to get his performances viewed through very rose tinted glasses and I was just reinforcing the point that Greenacre is key. I'd love to see two up front.

Costa up against a tiring back-line...it could work if we are going into attack mode. Though he was the guy who fluffed two chances on November 8 in the 1-1 draw.

Is Greenacre 100% fit though? I still see Greenie coming in for Costa on the bench.

I actually see Costa getting written off on these forums if he doesn't win the game after coming on for 10 minutes. Greenacre on the other hand has had many games of not doing anything for 90 minutes and everyone still says how great he played because he can run around the park. Greenacre has done a job for us at times though. I see Costa as more likely to create chances though.

can't see costa starting ahead of greenacre if fit, costa is good but seems to struggle wih the lack of game time, nt his fault but he needs to make an instant impact or he's going to struggle to get games. As for changing the bench, I think greenie has to start with Dadi, so manny to the bench, prob Costa to drop off - why make other changes/subs when you are winning??

Hearfield at LB?  How does that work?

Think I would prefer to put McKain on the left, bring Siggy into the middle and keep Hearfield at RB - he was just getting into that position.  Then again I guess it is a big call to move McKain out to the left like that ...
