Why I like stripes (stripping 2009)

I hope it is stripes and not hoops.

Hoops would not be kind to the more 'robust' Feverites...

Does anybody know if there's any truth in the rumour that we're wearing stripes next season?

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

So when you say we're going to be in Stripes, you mean like a re-make of the movie or a sequal or something?

That would be cool, but what's it got to do with next season's kit?

I am however, fast approaching 41... you are only marginally older than the Junior News (and mentally I'm not sure you even make that).

I think stripes will be an improvement on our current strip. And It will make the club less generic which is a plus in my book.

Hull City went from a 90's shocker in the league one or two to this classy kit in 2008

Surely phoenix can go from boring black ( a lah the knights) to a nice yellow and black striped beauty

^A lovely kit isn't it?

Just remains to be seen if Reebok can pull off.

Tip: Keep the shoulders clean for f**king starters.  FFS.

When the club was first formed, there were some marvellous and imaginative designs promoted by some of the YF lads on the YF forum. To add my vote, my personal favourite for home strip would be black and yellow striped-shirt (but not the Hull City kind - too bland), black shorts (or, as another very good and perhaps better option, white shorts), and black socks with a yellow trim at the top (or, black and yellow hooped socks).  From memory, there were two or three black and yellow striped-shirts designed by YF lads that fitted the bill perfectly.  I acknowledge there may be many other preferences regarding the club's playing strip (including the staus quo), but the issues of options for better branding / marketing of the club and the principle of whether Reebok and/or the FFA should dictate in this regard are highly relevant (see the next point).

Having a common, centrally-planned playing strip design for all the clubs is absolutely boring.  What a marketing and branding disaster by those who decided this and a lost opportunity!  Why should, as I understand it, Reebok insist on using a template for all playing strips - it doesn't seem logical?  After all, the strips would still carry the Reebok brand / logo.

Also, why is it that the club has to play in its away colours when not playing in Wellington?  This is a ridiculous requirement, unless there is a clash of colours.

It would be great to hear from Tony P about whether the club is looking to rebrand itself for next season, or what its views on this topic are.  Perhaps Tony P could also clarify what the requirements of the FFA and Reebok are.

The white away strips are gone, as is the requirement to wear them according to my people in Aus.

Reebok claimed the cost of producing anything with sublimated (died) colours as too expensive and that is why the uniformity.  The FFA have listened, hence the changes for next season.

Remeber that the A-League could have been a complete flop and the FFA wanted methods that were easily managed to ensure that is was viable financially and from a mangeability perspective.  Now it is proven these things become more free.

Well if the club wants to save some dosh, bulk buy some Hull City kits without their badge and sponsor and get them cheaper. A hundred or so 2XL shirts for fans to buy wouldn't go amiss either!
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

And, don't forget, darlings, vertical stripes are sooooo slimming. So, sweetie, if your favourite footie player is carrying a few extra pounds, this is a wonderful way to hide any unsightly bulges or love handles.
