Just spotted the man himself on Cuba Street. He’s an absolute unit these days. Huge signing if the rumours are true.

Are the Nix waiting for June 30 to do official goodbye posts for Chico & Stefan? Or is there a chance we retain Stefan?

Came home from work tonight and the missus had Lasagna in the oven for tea. Hoping that's a good omen.

It is honestly astonishing how big Lasogga has become on the forum.

I feel nervous to say it, but for those that might be still unaware/the newer users, I was the one that originally mentioned Lasogga, I’m his agent lol.

It was my first post on the forum back in the 21/22 offseason, and was just supposed to be an innocent suggestion from a long time Phoenix fan (since 09/10) of someone who I thought could be a good replacement for Hooper, who obviously had left for the second time.

After the original post though, I would bring him up way too much and not stop going on about it.

I'm proud to say I started the height thing haha. Some wiki admin was going nuts there..

If Rockhopper's home baked lasagna dinner does not convince Lasogga to sign on the dotted line, I do not know what would.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Nothing from the clubs involved yet? Is Auckland trying to steal the transfer?

Wonder if the nix could approach Fulham for a loan of Dibley-Dias and get a season of 1st team footy under his belt and see if he can push a case for World Cup selection, at one point  he was one of our most talked about prospects who just seems to of dropped right off. At 21 now I assume he’s aged out of there under 21 team so unless Fulham are going to chuck him in the team he’s going out on loan I assume

It's not that he's dropped off, he's had horrible luck with injuries.

Was about to feature in an AWs squad for the first time for the matches against DR Congo and Australia in 2023, but he picked up an injury in training.

Apparently Auckland have made a signing - yet to be announced.

It always feels like we are the last team to sign players!!

One of the benefits of having the longest off season in the world

The later you sign them, the less you have to pay them 😂

At least the Phoenix women are more on to it than the men, two solid import signings a couple days apart from each other and they don't even have a new coach confirmed yet.

True, still great work and commitment by them to acquire those signings in still early days of the off-season.

Don’t the A league rules for woman only say they can have 37 week contracts or something like that?

I believe they’ll be extended to 37 this season, before that it was 35. Still not great for people trying to make a living.

Got to get him in early for pre-season! Class is permanent and football is the language of us all.

The German Woodsy. My god I really want this to happen now. In the personality stakes we’ve got Rufer…and maybe Luke B-S…

Got his first action in ages- 20 minutes at the end of this game. Get him in now! He’s keen but without football.

Piney has heard 'strong mail' about Waineo to Auckland - on the Football Fever podcast.

I think by letting Mata go back to Shrewsbury Town, it shows Auckland are in the market for Aus/Kiwi striker.

Presumably they are going to use Moreno's vacant spot on a visit number 9. But then a bit of a risk having say young Jonty Bidois as your back up. If Auckland are again to have trophy ambitions you could see them yes, going for both Waine & a visa striker.

That would be thoroughly disappointing if we can’t even attract one of our own. This should be a no brainer for the nix imo.

I thought didn't Shaun Gill say on the Fever FM pod they talked to Waine but he wanted to stay over in Europe/overseas?

gilly said the phoenix were in for him, but his preference was to stay in the uk. he also said that things might change and if they did they may enquire again if they hadn't moved on themselves.

Lol. We continue to pay the price for Chiefy staying. Sucks so much but cannot blame for Waine choosing to got to Auckland rather than here in a World Cup year

That first goal is pure class.

A real poacher's instinct. You just can't teach that.

Waino to AFC would be hard for Nix fans to take. We really are struggling to be an attractive option. Costa not re-signing sent quite s message

Not good however if imports get confused and see that the Nix lost to that team by 5 goals however!!

I guess Kosta and Ben knew the score

So my “wish list” of kiwi players and there is nothing linking them to the club it’s just guys I can think of off contract or close to off contract or a potential loan deal. I’d like 1 of either  Tuiloma or Stanger for that CB role. Originally I wanted waine but if he’s going to AFC then Myer Bevan could do a job (i have not checked his availability) left back McGarry would of been nice but he’s apparently signing elsewhere so no idea who could be a good pick up there. CM Dibly-Dias on a loan deal and wouldn’t mind big Nik in goal either. Any other ideas? My flu fogged brain isn’t firing on all cylinders.
Edit- left back options, what ever happened to Wynne or De Jong?
Edit- wynne in Npl and de Jong not played since 2021

I think the current management underestimated the unattractiveness of the system of football played by the Nix the last two seasons under Chiefy.
Going to be very hard to attract quality players to that system. Especially Kiwi's and Aussies who will be more aware of our current state.
A fresh coach and a fresh start and a fresh approach would have been so much more positive in attracting new players.
I hope I'm proved wrong though.

Kosta might be retired if he’d stayed in Oz. If he had offers. He’s had 4 seasons in his entire career in double digit goals- two of them have been the last two with Chief. That’s why he’s worth marquee money again.

If Waine goes to Auckland, well f- him. Supyk will go past him in the order soon…

Edit: Don’t get me wrong- I’m a Waine fan, but as an AW and an ex-Nix player anywhere but Auckland.

I've never had more instances of TV remote thrown towards TV screen high force than McGarry's stint with us. Maybe he's older and wiser after his overseas stints but jeez he could be an infuriating watch back in the Talay era.

He would be a decent signing if we played him as wing back when we play a back 5 and if we play a back 4 a backup LM.

Tuiloma and/or Stanger interesting shouts. Not sure how they’d compare to Wootton. But they wouldn’t be visa players. Could Stanger/Hughes lead our defense? I like Rufer/Tuiloma in CM, but Bill would have to get on his bike. He’s currently got less gas than Lewis had.
